Big 10 Basketball 2009-2010

That UM-UW team was an ugly game between two teams that really need to get their act together. UM's already gone from NCAA tournament contention, and if they keep playing like they did last night, they can kiss the NIT goodbye. As for UW, I don't think they'll ultimately miss the NCAA tournament, but if they keep struggling at home against bad teams (and bad teams who are having bad games), they won't be doing themselves any favors when it comes to seeding. The #19 team in the nation shouldn't struggle to beat 10-8 UM at home, especially when UM only shoots 36% from the field.

scUM basketball fans are growing impatient. This team has underachieved horribly. Were they worthy of a #15 preseason rank? Absolutely not. But, they shouldn't be this bad. The funny thing is Sims is a senior and I doubt Harris comes back next year. If they're both gone, which is quite likely, who replaces them as the scorers? Novak? () Their recruiting hass been pretty poor and doesn't appear to be improving. They could be heading for another long postseason drought.

scUM was going to struggle against Purdue today anyways but this almost guarantees them a loss:

Michigan's Harris to miss Purdue game over disciplinary issues | freep.com | Detroit Free Press

Michigan junior Manny Harris did not make the trip to West Lafayette for the 4 p.m. game against Purdue because of disciplinary issues, unsportsmanlike conduct in practice.

"Manny has made great strides both on and off the court over the last three years," U-M coach John Beilein said in a release. "Unfortunately he used poor judgment on Friday. It is best for Manny's future if he stays home and sits out this Purdue game. We will meet with Manny and the team again when we return to determine if he has learned enough from this suspension to rejoin the team for Tuesday's game. I am confident that this learning experience will be valuable in the future to both Manny and our basketball program."

Watching m*ch*g*n try to run an offense is like watching a monkey try to [censored] a football. Every possession is exactly the same. Pass the ball around the perimeter for 30 seconds and chuck up a shot.
How can you criticize the Brilliance of Beilein? :slappy:

Michigan has a real talent for hiring coaches. Thank you, Bill Martin.
