we had quite a good time with this topic back in the day. I can't recall the thread.

It led to the running joke of Milli having tassels on his handlebars which in turn found it's way into the MS Paint thread.

good times
I think that was back when Thump was an anti cyclist.

My tolerance for taking a spill is very low qt the moment (for reasons). I mean I have crashed 3 times on my own and broken two helmets. I don't need any help from cars. Shit. You never know when a tree is going to fall on you on a path (more likely than you think!)

Not sure that was me.

Who's asking

The sarcastic video on Saquon Barkley in that channel, and the corroborating evidence of my behavior in his thread here should answer that.
i’m asking.

EDIT: heisman made my points, so no need to belabor it more. i’m not sure what anybody was doing wrong in that situation. if driver was in a rush he/she could’ve just gently honked so the cyclists know that there’s somebody behind them.

They were very aware I was behind them.
And, again, 1 of us was "Sharing the Road". The other was hogging it for their selfish endeavors.
Just because I want to go home after work, doesn't make me "impatient".
If I wanted to be impatient, I could have just run them over with no witnesses.

I feel like your definition of share the road is different from theirs. Yours sounds like you want them to give you the road.

How do you know they knew you were behind them?

And I didn't say you were impatient. I said that if you were in a rush, you can given a tap to your horn and most certainly they would have made way earlier than they did. Did you try that?

Yes, you could have run them over with no witnesses. I'm sure that would have taught all the cyclists out there a good lesson.

When cyclists choose to get their exercise on a narrow road, they are not sharing it because you cannot get around them without risking your life and the lives of others (oncoming traffic). When they are in a designated bicycle lane (on roads big enough to have them) then everyone can share easily. The rub lies when the road just isn't big enough for both activities at the same time.

People in cars are solving a transportation problem. They have to drive cars on roads to get from point A to point B. They can't choose to solve their transportation problem in other ways .

Cyclists are solving an exercise problem. They are doing it for physical exercise or pursuit of their favorite leisure activity. There is nothing wrong with that but they have choices on where they can engage in a leisure activity. Bike paths, gyms, wider roads etc etc etc.

People trying to get home from work, kids to school etc, do not have the same options and, to my way of thinking, have a more legitimate need for the road so when it can't be shared, I think the cyclists are being the selfish/inconsiderate party.
