i think that Saving Private Ryan has to be up there, along with a lot of John Wayne's movies (i like "The Green Berets" personally). I also really liked "Enemy at the Gates".

i know theres still a lot out there that i havent seen or mentioned, so feel free to add movies or comments.

Blackhawk Down-#1 in my book
Paths of Glory-maybe the best "message" film ever. Kirk Douglas is great
Full Metal Jacket-read the book The Short-timers by Gustav Hasford, more stuff happens........
Saving Private Ryan-I appreciated it a lot more after watching it for the first time in several years last spring
The Deer Hunter-I just love this movie-even the hour long wedding

Clint Eastwood is making a movie version of Flags of Our Fathers, about the 6 flag raisers on Iwo Jima. I am reading the book right now, and it is something else-right up there w/ Stephen Ambrose's best stuff, it is written by James Bradley, the son of one of the flag raisers. I am sure the movie will be phenomenal. Also, Eastwood is simultaneously making a movie called Lamps Against the Wind, about the Japanese on Iwo Jima.
