    • Since we have a thread on worst pizza, we need one for best pizza.

    The original Wedgewood Pizza in Austintown. They won an award for best pizza in the entire country back in '80s, and it still tastes the same. When I come back for The Game this November, I'm flying into Cleveland instead of C-Bus so I can make a detour stop at Wedgewood on the way down from Cleveland to C-Bus.

    I live about 25-30 minutes from there and I've never tried it. Perhaps I should consider a little road trip.

    I agree, Wedgewood is good Pizza, Cornersburg is very good too, but the one in Boardman is the best and the one in Poland sucks.

    FYI - they opened up a Wegdewood here in Columbus last year. Its down in Grove City.

    In Lincoln, NE, there is no good pizza. There is tolerable pizza, but nothing good. I make pizza at home. It's better than anything I can buy. Thin-crust, traditional or deep-dish - I got 'em all.




    Best pizzas I ever had were Giordano's in Chicago and Applewood in Menlo Park, CA.

    Valentino's was good maybe 20 years ago. These days it's just bread and crap. It's still a tradition around here because people don't know any better. Heck, 20 years ago Godfather's was damned good pizza. I still like it, but it's not nearly as good as it was.

    Doesn't have to a be a chain. Even if it's a one-store operation (like Wedgewood was in the mid-80s when the won the award), if you think they have the best pizza, name 'em.

    Grandad's in Grandview is my favorite local pizza place, they also expanded to Morse Road but I don't know how it compares to the original. Romeo's is my wife's favorite, it's good but the sauce is a little sweet for my taste; they do have excellent Buffalo wings though.

    If you have a different opinion, it is wrong.

    I do have to give a shout out to my hometown favorite, Marrion's, however. It's not for everyone, and I certainly wouldn't call it "the best," but whenever I'm home it is on my list of things to eat and I do find myself craving it from time to time.
