best food for under $10 bucks in columbus

Is this the "Gyro Shop" on Henderson (Near Dierker) that used to be the Taco Bell, or something else? "Gyro Shop" is in my top three. Great food for under $5. Service is the best I've ever seen for a place that is considered "Fast Food". "Skyline Chili" and "Grinders" are also near the top of my list in Columbus.

Yes, right by Dierker. It does look like an old Taco Bell. The super-size gyro is the best, along w/ the gyro meat sub. You're right about Skyline too, we take that for granted here in SW Ohio.

To sum up the best mentioned so far:

Cici's (the buffet is great, but you can order the xlarge deep dish for $5 as well)
Club 185
Chipotle
Jersey Mike's

Now, outside of these, you have to hit:

Bag of Nails (although it's only less than $10 at lunch)

Mad Greek on Broad...it's owned by the same people as Fisherman's Wharf

Skyline. Truly the shit. Argue and die.

Signatures in Gahanna. I have no idea what the food tastes like, but they have the absolute hottest bartender/beer wench/server there during lunch. And I mean SMOKING.

Cafe Mediterranea (sp.) Excellent Mediterranean foon, especially gyros.

One place that I miss is Flickers on Bethel. You used to be able to go in there, watch a movie, eat a meal, drink two pitchers of beer and one pitcher of margarita for less than $20 a person.

The best breakfast, bar none, is the German Village Coffee Shop. Best. Pancakes. Ever.

It is/was an old Taco Bell. Not sure when it became the Gyro shop, but back in the late 80's early 90's it was, for sure, a Taco Bell.

Nazareth - located in Columbus Square Plaza (Cleveland Ave @ 161)
The gyros are outstanding, the fries are some of the best I've ever had, and all for a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is very nice, too. The owner wanders around with a baseball bat, asking the customers if they are enjoying the food. Good times.

probably not the "best" food for 1, but I doubt there are many places that are better for two people for under $10.

Great recommendation on cici's... all you can eat pizza for $3.99, and there were some pretty good pizzas (bbq, regular cheese, hawaiian, etc)... mostly due to some very good ingredients (I loved the sauce on some of the pizzas).

thanks for the tip guys... we ate well tonight for next to no money.
