Best Female Musicians

I'd imagine if more females played guitar or something not piano or whatever, there'd be plenty of very talented musicians. I'm a musician, and I know plenty.. but I only know a few females who play guitar. And they're mainly singers who learned to play some guitar for some music behind their vocals.

I think calling them novelties is kind of unfair. Why are we limiting it to the rock genre, anyways? Kaki King can play guitar better than most dudes I've seen and heard.

Orianthi has her own music too, she didn't just play with Michael Jackson. I don't really care for it.. but she's talented.

OK... I MIGHT, just MIGHT put one other girl mentioned in this entire thread into the "good" category, the Orienany chick. But she played for Michael Jackson, not exactly a ressume builder for the Rock Hall of Fame.

The rest are either just OK to sucks when compared to any mid level guy. I am completly taking out even comparing to Kottke, Anistasio, Demmiola, Axe, Fripp, Jeff Beck, not even to mention the top dogs like a Hendrix or Page.

It's not like more guys play guitar than chicks...

Fine, but straight statistics would say that there would be a few top female players even though there would not be as many.

There aren't any that come close.
