No argument there.

If I thought "greatest hits" albums should count than The Steve Miller Band, Bad Company & both of The Eagles' greatest hits would make the list.

as an analogy (and i'm a fan of his), Louis L'Amour has sold over 90 MILLION books, but you cannot compare the quality of his works to that of say Dickens, Shakespeare, or even Hemmingway.

total sales don't mean that it's the best...

I never said anything about Thriller being better then anything, just saying that Thriller is the all time album seller, but if I had to choose my favorite album of all time, it would be Sgt. Pepper

FWIW according to the RIAA The Eagles Greatest Hits - Vol 1 is the all time leader in sales.

Fleetwood Mac is the most overrated band of all time. I can't think of a single song from Rumours that I would ever want to hear again. I also can't stand the Clash or the Sex Pistols. But the rest of your list is great, except that I think Moving Pictures is better than Permanent Waves (a minor quibble). Boston was certainly a revelation in quality sound, and might possibly be the best "first album" of all time.

Permanent Waves is more consistent IMO.
