Palmer wants to see change
QB says new coaches, discipline needed for turnaround
BY MARK CURNUTTE | [email protected]

Carson Palmer said Monday that he thinks changes are needed in the Bengals coaching staff.
In a locker-room interview with reporters at Paul Brown Stadium, the quarterback was asked if the same coaching staff can fix the Bengals, who finished the season 7-9 and out of the playoffs.
"I don't think so," he said.

Two games at Giants Stadium in 2008
BY MARK CURNUTTE | [email protected]

The Bengals will make two visits to New Jersey during the 2008 NFL regular season and face what looks to be a considerably tougher schedule.

After firing defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan and linebackers coach Ricky Hunley this week, the Bengals let it be known that the rest of their coaches are under contract for 2008, but they wouldn't divulge any terms.
Now for the speculation: The obvious candidate to replace Bresnahan is Donnie Henderson, a former defensive coordinator for the Jets and Lions who spent the 2007 season as a "consultant" for Cincinnati. Bresnahan filled the same role before he was hired to replace Leslie Frazier.
The other name making the rounds is Tim Lewis, a former defensive coordinator for the Steelers and Giants who spent the '07 season as the secondary coach for Carolina. He and head coach Marvin Lewis worked together in Pittsburgh in the mid-'90s.

The Cincinnati Bengals reportedly have begun negotiations with a few of their unrestricted free agents: linebacker Landon Johnson, safety Madieu Williams and offensive lineman Stacy Andrews.
As negotiations progress, it will be easy to see how the Bengals truly view their young defensive players. The coaches spoke highly of Chinedum Ndukwe, Ahmad Brooks, Rashad Jeanty and Domata Peko toward the end of the season; if they really think those guys are ready to become solid players, they might allow Johnson or Williams walk. If the coaches were merely putting on a happy face late in a lost season, then they will make a determined push to sign the free agents.

He did very well. As expected, het got beat his fair share but it was usually against a top receiver. I think he also had the most INTs on the team, he showed a lot of potential. I doubt the Bengals bring back O'Neal which should leave Hall a fairly uncontested starting spot next year (not that he was lacking playing time this year).

I'm gonna disagree with a lot of that. Yes he lead the team in INT's but he got beat all year.

Teams took advantage of him every week. He tackled poorly a majority of the year as well. I didn't see it.....not for a first rounder anyways.
