Bengals(-6.5) at Browns

Actually, a win IS a win. And when you score 45 points and manage to lose, you should be a bit more worried than us Browns fans.

1. The Browns fans are acting as if they actually had NO SHOT to win the game, but yet they did. That's how Browns fans are acting. With good reason. Who Dey? (I forget how the rest of that cute little saying goes)

2. The teams entered yesterday's game with a 34-33 series history, with the Bengals entering the game with the sweet, albeit short-lived, all-time series advantage. But yet I keep forgetting that the Bengals have always been better. Every year. Even when there was no Browns. And the Bengals still couldn't sniff the second season. In fact, the Browns took 4 years off, started back up in a hurry with an embarrassingly inept front office/ownership, made just about the worst 1st Draft Pick ever, and still made it back to the playoffs before the Bengals.

3. As it stands, the Bengals were certainly embarrassed in the second week of the season. Doubtful anything tops this one, so I guess you could say things can only get better?

Oh, I'm not saying I'm not worried... After that lackluster performance I want to see the Bengals organization grow some balls and fire the D-Coordinator.. He's terrible. I don't expect the Bengals to make the playoffs so a .500 season is all I can hope for. Reality sinks in and when your team drops 51 in the NFL don't expect big things from that point on... Hopefully some of those fake Bengal fans will fall off the bandwagon though.

The only two good things for the Browns to take from this game is 1. Derek Anderson isn't so bad and 2. you won.. Other than that I'd be pretty disappointed in the play of the Browns. The thought that there is anyone out there willing to invest (read waste) their precious time pretending to be a Bengals fan when they are not actually a true Bengals fan is unbelievable to me.

There are all kinds of different types of sports fans. Maybe the fake fans you are talking about are really just the people who like the Bengals, root for them to win, but don't get so wrapped up in this foolishness that they actually consider slitting their wrists or jumping off a bridge when the team fails to win one God Damned game!

Perhaps these so called fake fans just happen to keep the things in the proper perspective. Maybe the fake fan has an actual life and doesn't have time to allow the Bengals to rip their heart out on a regular basis. Maybe the fake fan has better things to do today than argue back and forth with Browns fans who have had it so bad lately that they just can't help but get a little giddy after seeing a Browns QB throw five TD passes in a single game all while a Browns RB is rushing for 200 plus yards.

Sunday's game is hard to put in perspective. It's a long season. Try to relax. The Bengals are only one game behind the Steelers and they already beat the Ravens. You never know. Maybe the other 30 teams in the NFL won't even notice how easily the Browns seemed to move the ball yesterday. Maybe no teams will watch the film and copy the Browns game plan against that Bengal D. Maybe it was just a fluke. Who knows?

I still own my Andre Rison jersey and my Tim Couch bobblehead. I have met plenty of people in Cincinnati though who have no idea who David Klingler is. Those are the fake Bengals fans. For them, the Bengals history for many people seems to skip directly from Ickey Woods to Carson Palmer. And to think it was actually Cleveland fans were the ones that were without a team for a period of time...

Now I'm not naive enough to believe that if the Browns actually become good that there won't be some people that jump on the bandwagon - that's just the nature of sports. To me though, the Bengals following here reeks of what happened with the Cleveland Indians in the '90s - except the Tribe was acutally good.

I can give 2 shits about what happened when it was the AFL, now where is the franchise, oh wait once moved to Baltimore and left the Dawg pound wanting scraps. I agree the Browns are rebuilding but the Bengals have rebuilt, but need some work on D.

To many, pro football did exist before the Bungles came into existence and what happened before the merger is part of pro football history.

As others have pointed out, claiming the Bungholes have rebuilt is quite the stretch. I don't know what definition you use for rebuilt, but since the Browns came back in 1999, the Browns have made the playoffs one time (2002 and lost) and the Bungles have made it one time (2005 and lost). Explain to me what rebuilt means?

Right now, despite yesterday's game, I believe the Bengals are a better overall team than the Browns. Yet the Browns won. Any given Sunday, I guess.

While watching the 4th quarter Sunday, I kinda had a feeling what the Appy State fans must have felt on that glorious Saturday September 1st. I wondered if Bungle fan also had the same feeling...the feeling that scUM fan must have had as they watched their superior team unable to stop the inferior's team offense. The shock of it all, the disbelief. Don't get me wrong, the Browns win brought me considerable happiness, simply for a win. But that happiness is exceeded by the thought of what the loss did to Bungle fan!

Thats a very astute prediction....because after the second week, the Browns are completly overrated like the Bengals

Both the Browns and Bengals are very overrated after week 2....some think the Bengals are a good team still, even though they have the worst D in the league and some the think the Browns can compete even though they can't, they just beat a horrible team that pretends to be good
