Based on how far along in their careers these three are, its kind of a no brainer. Beanie's gonna sit at #3 because he's still learning and proving himself as an everydown back in the college game. McFadden's a top 5 pick in the draft next year. AP's an everydown back in the league.

It's interesting to compare Peterson and Beanie because their styles and build are so similar. At this point in his career, AP had been coming off of finishing #2 for the Heisman as a frosh and having somewhat of a sophomore slump. Beanie's not there yet, but with how fast he's progressing (he looks better every week!), he may win a trophy Peterson never earned.

If you are going off of them as of right now, of course I would definitely take AP.

But if you were to take one of them in a few years, when all three are in the NFL and into their development, who would you take?

I know Peterson has proved himself already, but I think that both McFadden and Beanie have that potential to be physically imposing runners who can break away in the secondary. Will they make the impact that Peterson has, or will they just turn out to be great college RBs, and average/good NFL players?

Adrian Peterson, hands down. The impact that he has made as a rookie is unprecedented. His numbers that he has set this season leads me to believe that we could witness one of the greatest RB's of all-time, barring injury.

Beanie and McFadden are completely different, and it depends on what type of player you are looking for. Both are explosive players that can take over the game. I would give Beanie the nod over McFadden for being the stronger runner, while I'll give the edge to McFadden for speed.

Just throwing this out there, that's a badass fucking picture. The shark in the shadows is sweet.

Anyway, I'd take Peterson right now. He's just got everything you want, he runs angrily, and he's probably a better pass blocker than the other two, and that's something I value highly. Wells could be as good as him if he improves at the rate he's been improving at. He's rather excellent.

AP is a BEAST. But, let's not forget that it's only halfway through the NFL season, and he saw less playing time in the begining of the year. If he can make it through an entire NFL season without injuries creeping in again, he'll establish himself as a force for years to come.

-Beanie and Peterson's builds are not similar. Beanie is listed as 6'1" 235, but has been reported around 240-245. Peterson is 6'1" 217. They can't be compared speed wise or pass catching ability. As college player I'd say Peterson slightly over McFadden with Beanie behind them. The same theme should continue in the pros Peterson or McFadden followed by Beanie.
