BCS predictions/discussion/Knock Em' Off

Sorry, but if Kansas loses to Missouri they will not be in the championship game over their own conference champion.

The extreme longshot scenario could see LSU and WVU both take a second loss then Oklahoma win the B12. That leaves exactly OSU, Kansas and maybe Hawaii as your 1 loss or better teams.

Most don't believe the CFB world will have a 2 loss team play for a NC if there is any 1 loss BCS conference school at all availible for the spot.

Hmmm.... guess it depends who that 2 loss team is.

I would think if Georgia turns out to be that 2 loss team (Obviously that all has to shake out with Tennesee, etc.) then Georgia would have a number of things going for it. First, they're in the right BCS position (At #7 right now). Second, they will have a win against #1. Third, and most important is that they would be SEC champs and Kansas will not be Big XII champs. And Fourth & Fifth, (The top secret unspoken Bullshit factors) is are that in the eyes of many, the SEC gets a free loss because they are in the SEC... and... this is probably less BS, but, they are playing good ball at the end of the year.

If of course, Tennesee wins out and wins the SEC (to give LSU their loss)... then its gonna be a trainwreck free for all, as no one is really going to "want" Va Tech should they win the ACC... after that the Pac-10 winner is back in the race, which means a USC team that lost to Stanford or a Dixonless Oregon team... and Oklahoma who has lost to 2 unranked teams.... So, I'd think Kansas would be in a good place to go instead of any of them.

i'm fairly certain that the Nebraska debacle in 2001, followed by the Oklahoma debacle in 2003, in conjunction to what the voters did with Meatchicken in the final polls last year should be rather indicative of the BCS's attitude regarding MNC 'contenders' who don't win their own conference...

Sorry Jax for being an ass. Im sure your not a bad guy, and if the day comes where OSU and WVU meet, Ill buy you beer. If you dont drink, Ill buy you whatever you want to drink.

I read these forums more than I post. Ive been here 2 years and have under 100 posts, so my post average is low.

I give you credit, you said WVU would lose to USF and we did. Cant argue there. We had over 400 yards of offense, but our starting QB hurt and 6 turnovers usually keep you from winning.

Oregon.... check
Oklahoma.... check
ASU....check
LSeffinU.....big check

Gentlemen; We have Kansas, Missouri and WVU ahead of us.

Either of the first two will be out of the way; so it looks like we'll be rooting for Oklahoma come soon. Indeed a great time to be a buckeye. Remember what I said, the stars can align.

WEEK 2 Teams to root for:

Arkansas (+13) @ L.S.U___(Friday)__

At 7-4 this will be the final regular season game for Coach Houston Nutt. The Razorbacks are lead by Darren "Run DMC" McFadden. DMC was a heisman finalist last year and should return to NYC this year. His running mate Felix Jones averages 9.1 yards per carry and has ran over 1,000 yards with 11 td's... this to go with DMC's over 1,500 and 12. Jones hasn't played the last two games with a deep thigh bruise, but may be back this week. The Hawgs only solid win was against South Carolina in a shootout.

University of Conneticut (+17) @ West Virgina

The 9-2 Huskies try and play spoiler this week. Their 2 losses come on the road.... a one point loss to a solid Virgina team, and a whooping in the hands of Cincinatti. UCONN takes care of the ball and plays tough D. A win would give UCONN an outright Big East title and a BCS bowl bid.... so, they have a lot riding on the game too.

Missouri (+2) @ Kansas________

So here's what it boils down to. Oklahoma will have their hands full with Oklahoma State, while Texas, seemingly has an easier foe in A&M. Oklahoma is Mizzou's only loss by 10. Kansas has played neither. So, I would say root for Kansas to beat Mizzou and Oklahoma to beat OSU. Oklahoma goes to the Big 12 Championship with a win. Kansas vs. Oklahoma would be the best receipe for OSU. Mizzou is more battle tested and would be looking for vengance on the Sooners.... while Texas is not Texas.

One Down...

Shit, we dont even have to worry about Uconn tommorrow;

Kansas will lose to Missouri and Missouri will lose to Oklahoma; granted, I'd prefer not to chance anything, but my question is this. If WVU loses, then Kansas and Miss go down, who then would be the #2 team??
