I am not tring to imply it is a plot against OSU. I am just saying if you suspend a kid for the regular because for cheating (I am assuming that is what academic dishonesty means) then that should include the post season. I am not really tring to take a jab at LSU either. I assume this may be the norm in other schools too. regardless of what school does it, it stinks that you punish a kid for an entire season but then tell him it is ok to play in champonship or bowl games.

Actually his was suspended for the bowl season last year. He was suspended for 1 calendar year after the 2006 Ark game. He missed the Sugar Bowl last year...

Gotta give LSU credit where credit is due. A 12 month suspension for academic fraud when FSU is talking about possibly only suspending 25 players for the bowl game this year after what amounts to be the same type of infraction. The situation in Tallahassee is CLEARLY more widespread and a bigger cause for alarm and the punishment is not going to come close to what LSU handed down. Doesn't really make you wonder why these types of incidents are isolated at places like tOSU and LSU does it?

I think FSU is also looking at suspending those players for the first 2 1/2 to 3 games next year. But that should be discussed in the FSU thread in the College Football forum.

Good news from LSU

LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette described as baseless and false a WAFB-TV report that cast doubt on the status of quarterback Matt Flynn.

Sports director Steve Schneider of WAFB cited unnamed sources as telling the station ?it?s going to be hard for the senior quarterback to make it through the BCS title game against Ohio State with the injury he has.?
Bonnette disagreed after speaking with team doctor Brent Bankston after practice.

?It?s not accurate,? Bonnette said of WAFB?s report. ?Come game day, Matt Flynn will be as healthy as he?s been all year.?

Flynn missed LSU?s 21-14 victory Dec. 1 against Tennessee in the SEC Championship Game after suffering what teammates and staff described as a shoulder separation a week earlier against Arkansas.

Ryan Perrilloux played in Flynn?s absence and was voted Most Valuable Player.

Dauterive, who coached Perrilloux at East St. John, said Flynn looked good Wednesday.

?He threw some nice balls,? Dauterive said. ?I think they can take more chances with him now. They don?t have to hold him back, because if he gets bumped or banged up, Ryan can come in there and do his thing.

This Clifford situation got me thinking about this BCS NC game from a little different perspective. LSU fans, if I remember correctly, you have a lot of senior leadership on your roster (sorry to lazy to research it now) tOSU has much less, but relies heavily on sophs, rfreshman and even true frosh, does anybody see the greater upside in that these youngsters now will get 20 more practices under their belt and will tOSU play their best game of the year because of it. It seems to me that these guys have the most ability to grow through the bowl preperation simply because of the game slowing down and the "oh I get it now" factor.

Cam, Dex, Ross, R.Small, DWorth, Chimdi, Dane, TGib, BRolle, BSaine and others who contributed large and small (no pun intended) will be more seasoned and confident. Once again hurry up Santa and come on January 7th
