Just one was a starter, that's bad enough. But, we are fairly deep in the secondary so it may not be quite the issue some would think.

I assume this may be the norm in other schools too. regardless of what school does it, it stinks that you punish a kid for an entire season but then tell him it is ok to play in champonship or bowl games.

I don't see why you think it stinks. The young man made an error in judgement and had to pay the price for it. At the time the punishment was imposed, it was for the regular season. What I think would stink would be for the coaching staff to extend his punishment because we were fortunate enough to go to the SEC CG and the NC.

There was nothing funny going on about the DE being suspended for the regular season, but it was awfully weird. All year they said he would be back for the SEC game, but why that time frame. And this is just my own observation but it seemed sometimes that his playing would be decicded by someone in the academic department. Not sure why.

Because Antonio was not suspended for the entire season. Had he been I would have the same opinion.

the only reason I say it stinks is if a player has a bad enough problem that warrents being suspended for the entire regular season then that should include the entire season.

I just find rather convenient that what he did was bad enough to be out the entire season until champonship and bowl time. I would have the same opinion even if it was OSU so I am not trying to knock LSU they just happen to be who this is about.

Don't get me wrong I don't think the guy (or anybody in that situation) is going to be a huge factor. It is unlikely to beleive that he will be in the same form as the other players who have been at it all year.

Gotta give LSU credit where credit is due. A 12 month suspension for academic fraud when FSU is talking about possibly only suspending 25 players for the bowl game this year after what amounts to be the same type of infraction. The situation in Tallahassee is CLEARLY more widespread and a bigger cause for alarm and the punishment is not going to come close to what LSU handed down. Doesn't really make you wonder why these types of incidents are isolated at places like tOSU and LSU does it?

I highly doubt any of the talking heads will eat crow for any of the stupid shit they say, they never do.

A perfect example: has Lou Holtz eaten crow for picking Notre Dame as his surprise top ten team this year? which was possibly one of the stupidest and most wrong predictions of the year, if he has I haven't seen it.
