One of the two remaining Big 12 squads tries to take out the last ACC representative.

But it's just individual teams playing, not conferences.

Interesting fact (and one I used while filling out my bracket): 1 and 3 seeds are 90+% (can't remember the exact number) when playing in their home state. 2 seeds were a much lower percentage oddly enough.

Baylor's path is looking an awful lot like Syracuse's path from 2003.

This game is impossible to "preview"...

Neither team has seen anything like the other all tourney...and probably all year...

Duke matches up well in about 50% of the stats/positions...

...which makes it redundant to say that Baylor matches up well in the other 50%...

Of all the teams left in this tourney, I think you're looking at the eventual National Champ in this game. Both of these teams are out to prove something...and both of these teams are the favorites to win the whole thing...this game will be tough, gritty and probably (hopefully) pretty low scoring...

Not to take away from Butler, WVU or the eventual winner of Tenn/Sparty, but these two teams are, right now, far ahead of the rest of the pack...

...but as we know, that doesn't mean anything

Here's the preview---DUKE IS GOING DOWN!!!!

I don't know about your last statement though... Butler is pretty damn good dude. And so is WVU.

wvu isn't of duke's caliber? their resumes for this season are nearly identical.

If DB was playing for WVU I'd agree...

...but after watching the last two games, ESPECIALLY the UK game, it's pretty obvious that Huggins's boys are running on fumes.

That's why I said "right now"

I didn't think UK was as great as their record. But you don't beat them "running on fumes." UK is a really good and really talented team.

Bryant going out has almost been a blessing in disguise. A guy that shoots 35% from the floor but averages 9 points a game is taking, and missing, a lot of shots. Mazzulla came in and played awesome.

WVU doesn't do it pretty, but they win. They may not look as good as they really are.

WVU looked like crap at the end because they didn't have a PG out there to handle the ball. Bryant was out with an injury and Mazoula fouled out.

I think people are severely underestimating just how poorly UK played yesterday...

Every mistake was amplified and duplicated by the fact that these guys are young...

Mazzulla has had to step in before, so it was no surprise that he was solid...but you have to remember, he played a very sloppy game on both sides of the ball...WVU out-talents people on most occasions...and in that game they were pretty much the better of two VERY sloppy teams.

Take a look at WVU's first half...

They couldn't get it done underneath to save their lives...and we both know that UK doesn't have a perimeter shooting D. When you put those two things together, it simply made sense that WVU put up something ilke 35 points without making a 2pt FG in the first half.

You don't play a game like that against a team with a solid perimeter D that doesn't play sloppy and doesn't turn the ball over and expect to have the lead.

If you go back to the Mizzou game and look at the first half there, it was very VERY similar.

Don't get me wrong WVU is a VERY talented team...but they simply benefited from the fact that UK played arguably the worst game they've played all year...

Disciplined, defensive teams give WVU fits...

Look at their losses...

Purdue by 15
Notre Dame by 2
Syracuse by 1
Villanova by 7
Pittsburgh by 3 in OT
Connecticut by 11

All disciplined, defensive teams that shoot well. Remind you of anyone? And those games were WITH DB.

Albeit, he may be back for the Final Four, he definitely won't be 100%.

again, it's absurd to claim that wvu isn't even of duke's caliber. duke, who has yet to secure a win even close to wvu's win over kentucky, is not some juggernaut that is playing head-and-shoulders above wvu.

WVU looked like crap more than just "at the end"...but that's what they do, so I can't really denounce it...
