OSU_Buckguy;1862900; said:gbu, what you listed is a "set," that is, the starting positions for a play. a set is nice and all, but there must be more to it. you'll see our team runs a lot of plays throughout the game, with often not a single one being repeated. that being stated, you'll see the same sets throughout the game. one set leading to different plays is one way to mislead the opponent.
the key to matta's offense is spacing, which is why he recruits for and employs a 4-out/1-in offense. he always tells his players that if they don't know where to go, they must relocate to an open spot. furthermore, adequate spacing is necessary for coach's overriding principle: put your players in positions to exploit their respective talents. this is one reason for matta's stellar recruiting. he lets his players showcase their wares.
This is problematic. Do you refer to one or more of the following?Buckeyeskickbuttocks;1862963; said:Did someone say there would be chips?
Yes.MaxBuck;1863000; said:This is problematic. Do you refer to one or more of the following?
2. Potatoe chips
b. Paint chips
ii. Buffalo chips
Also, it would be good to know whether beer will be served, and will it be bottled or on tap?

I am sure you get the point but this play is set up to have Sully 1 on 1 and then if the defenders collapse on Sully then that leaves our shooters wide open to drain the 3! And everyone of those guys on the perimeter can drain the 3. You can even put Thomas and Sibert in there too!!
This team is so good it is hard not to love this team. There are so many threats that if you try and stop one aspect of OSU's game they are just going to kill you in another aspect!
matta and his assistants already have a ton of plays that punish the opposing team when they double- or triple-team sullinger. heck, any play that leads to defenders crowding sullinger will also result in other offensive players being open. sullinger just has to recognize this and his teammates must create passing lanes.GoBuckUrself;1862986; said:Yes, basically a set play...you can have the guards setting picks for each other around the perimeter. I refer you to the opening scene of The Last Boy Scout.OSU_Buckguy;1863033; said:by the by, no play is "unstoppable."

closely watch any ohio state game. you'll repeatedly see sullinger in the middle and his teammates equally spaced around him. the general idea of your set is already applied by matta.
by the by, no play is "unstoppable."

Just sayin.
