Roll Tide vs Pig Sooey.

Gary Danielson has a choice as he tries to recover from life AT:

Drool more for Bama's RBs or Mallett's arm.

I'm going with the Tide on this one by at least 2 scores as well. Mallet won't abuse that defense like he might other teams, and i'm not sold on Arkansas being an elite team yet. Bama's RB's and offensive line will keep Mallet off the field and the Tide will ROLL.

Just a thought to consider since Bama hasn't played any teams with a passing game so far...

Greg McElroy and his back-up threw for over 750 yards in a srimmage against the defense in the spring. They also combined to complete over 80% of their passes against the defense.

Coaches have ways to light fires and generate motivation, but any way you slice that, the QB's shredded that defense through the air. Maybe Mallet has some of that same success?

Could be closer than some are anticipating...

Kiper picks Ar-KANSAS because of their "superior" offense. No chance.

Gotta go with Bama - Saban will make this game a defensive eye-sore, but Bama will run the ball and win the game.

You will probably be proven correct. Say what to about Saban's personality, etc.; but, he does know how to win football games. He is one of the "elite" Division 1-A college football coaches.

I guess it would be interesting to know if that scrimmage was full go and were the defensive lineman allowed to touch McElroy and his backup or was it hands-off and also was blitzing allowed. It makes a big difference in a QB's accuracy if he is throwing with guys coming to actually hit him and not pull off.

Whatever you say Corso...

No but in seriousness, that is some good evaluation in regards to the scrimmage and passing success of the QBs. You may look like a genius if it holds truth.

Bama is also replacing almost their entire defensive unit this season...surprised that subject hasn't been talked about nationally.

They lost 9 of 11 starters on that side of the ball, and most people I talk to think I'm making it up. I'd be shocked if they can roll through the SEC with that much lost takent even with their returning starters on offense.

Agree. True enough, Bama appears to have regained a "reload" level of talent, but one still has to worry about replacing 82% of your defense. Ohio State got away with a similar situation in 2006... until the last two games (a win in The Game, and the BCS Champ loss).

After further thought, my initial comment remains true, but one thing I didn't ake into consideration is SEC officiating. Alabama will be protected...that's just how the SEC rolls. So, while the game against Arky may be close, look for the early holding calls on Arky, defensive PI on close plays, block in the back calls, etc...

You know, all the little calls officials can make early to influence the final outcome.

In other words...Florida against Arky last year.
