After further thought, my initial comment remains true, but one thing I didn't ake into consideration is SEC officiating. Alabama will be protected...that's just how the SEC rolls. So, while the game against Arky may be close, look for the early holding calls on Arky, defensive PI on close plays, block in the back calls, etc...

You know, all the little calls officials can make early to influence the final outcome.

In other words...Florida against Arky last year.

I was thinking about that today. Bama's defense plays tight coverage, and Mallett will try to beat them with deep throws. The amount of contact that the Bama DBs get away with without having PI called will be a real factor in this game. And if the refs give the benefit of the doubt to the more serious BCS Title game contender ...

Agree. True enough, Bama appears to have regained a "reload" level of talent, but one still has to worry about replacing 82% of your defense. Ohio State got away with a similar situation in 2006... until the last two games (a win in The Game, and the BCS Champ loss).
