Game Thread Ball State at tOSU, Sat. Sept. 5th, 12:30 ET BTN

Great first game! Some things to celebrate. Other things to work on.
Julian and Jeremiah were on fire today.
Defense only gave up 3 pts.
Running game picked up in the 2nd half. Glad for the adjustments at halftime.
Kick returns aside, we were able to see that Bey is a weapon with the ball in his hands. He is already special.
Biggest concern is Daniel's at RT. Van Sickle had 2 or 3 penalties, so I'm not sure he's the answer at RG if Austin moves to RT.

GO BUCKS! Beat Texas!

Buckeye win and was very productive. Canned 19 quarts of salsa and 15 quarts of juice i make from all the leftover tomato, onion, garlic, hot/very hot/sweet peppers. Use it for soup base and dirty rice. All from our garden.

I love Dirty Rice, one of my favorite dishes. I do the 'authentic' with chicken livers and gizzards, ground beef, sausage or ground pork. Just made some last week.

Do you use the juice in place of stock? If so, that sounds phenomenal! We grow hot peppers, ghosts, habs, carolinas, thais, and make our own pepper sauces for wings, and crushed red pepper. We have to remember to tell guests that the crushed red pepper we have isn't what you get in the grocery aisle.

Yes. Use the juice instead of stock. Got just about every pepper you listed outside the Carolinas in the juice and salsa. Use the juice for stuffed cabbages and really anything. Thicken it up with heavy cream for soup and grilled cheese. Never thought to make crushed red pepper. Awsome.

Wife said no Carolinas this time, so I was wrong on that. Man, I haven't made cabbage rolls in a long time, family loves them, so I should again. Great idea for the soup! Enjoy your labors bro!

Do you just run the scraps through a juicer then boil and can or is there more to it? I’ve always just tossed all of the scraps, but now I’m intrigued!

Any leftover peppers, garlic, onion and tomatoes. Chop them up and throw them in a pot and boil them down for about 1-2hrs and soft as hell. Break it down in a Sauce Master food strainer. Add canning salt. Add to jars and hard boil in jars until it seals.

So today did half a bushel of tomatoes. 6 onions. 2 heads of garlic. 30 half hot peppers. 20 jalapeños. 20 Thai chili's. 10 Habeneros. 3 ghost peppers. Ish.
