Ball State 31, Cent TSUN 24 (Final)

That had to be one of the dumbest play calls I've ever seen.

4th and 18, let's run a fake punt reverse 10 yards behind the line. Amazing that it didn't work. :ohwell:

So CMU gets the ball back on their 13 with a minute left. It's one thing to take a calculated risk, but a reverse on 4th and 18 when the other team is expecting you might not punt?

Dumb as hell, and it cost them about 30 yards of field position.

While typing this CMU has gained over 50 yards in about 20 seconds.

Pick. Ball game. Drive home safely.

Ball State now has 2 wins over teams with winning records: Navy and Central Michigan.

Nice team, but top 15? Based on what?

The thing that made it worse was the location. From the opponent's 40, CMU had to get to the 22 for a first down. Ball State is not setting up a return with a 7 point lead and 4 minutes left, because if the offense punts it's going to be a pooch kick, so where are all of those defenders supposed to be when you're trying to get from the +40 to the 22?

Holy God.

Did anyone just see the first down line discrepency versus the actual chains?

I'll never trust that damn thing again.

It was off a little bit at midfield, a few inches on the other side of the stripe. But on the play that was talked about earlier, the yellow line was about 2 feet ahead of the spot where they got the first down.

I wasn't sure where to put this little quote, but it's fucking hilarious and Ball State-related.

I found this comment in the discussion of the Bottom 10 list on espn.com. Bottom 10.

if you include the honorable mentions, the MAC has 5 teams on this list. making Ball St.'s undefeated season that much more impressive. as an Ohio U student i would love to see Ball St. make it to a BCS bowl

Nate Davis is a nice little QB and probably could start for a lot of D-1 BCS schools in the country but while Ball State will still remain in my top 25 I think there are at least 25 teams in the country that would beat them without much difficulty.
I was that impressed with Dan L from CMU I thought he would have been a much better passer from everything that I had heard about him.
