We could beat Michigan each of the next 20 years and not one of the victories will seem old or boring. Michigan needs to keep paying for 1969...

Haven't you spent most of your life paying for 69 all over the Pacific Rim Job ?

Yes, the novelty is beginning to fade. Can we declare indiana our new rival. or maybe Purdue?

This sounds like that bullshit that scUM players and fans used to spew.

"We just call them Ohio, they aren't even our rival anymore, that's Michigan State, you have to win one once in a while to be considered a rival"

Sounds just as fucking stupid when we say it.

I say stuff like that from time to time...but it's just because I hope some tsun fan is reading it, and it makes them half as pissed as it made me when Gary Moeller said it durning the dark ages.

It wasn't true when he said it, and it's not true now.

tOSU could win EVERY game against those fucks for the rest of my life, and I'd celebrate each like the first time.

Fuck M*ch*gan.

WTF is wrong with people?!? Not even in jest does one post any shit about finding a new rival.

Ask yourself the following: What would Woody's reaction be to my joking around about needing a new rival? How would I explain to Woody that 7-1 in the past 8 years, and the scUM program in somewhat disarray, has brought me to think such thoughts, jokingly mind you?

I believe that had Woody heard Gary Moeller speak that bullshit...he'd have already said something similar by the time Tressel was 3-1.

I know this was said as a joke, but recently, Penn State has been more competitive than scUM has, it seems like they're moreso our rivals.
Yeah...I think you are nuts. If you want to be a fan of a "different rival every year" team...then go become a fan of the SEC.

The Game is the biggest game in all of sport, every year. There is a lot more to it than just the Tressel Era. The great thing about college football is that you only play your rival once a year. It isn't like Baseball or Basketball or the NFL where you will play them more than once. You can't "split the series" in a given year. It is either Ohio State's year...or it is Michigan's year. 2003 is the worst season Tressel has had since he has been here...and that's because we didn't beat Michigan. It was Michigan's year. And that sucked! Some Ohio State fans now a days have been more worried about getting to the phoney BCS false championship game, then beating michigan. Hell...there are probably some of you out there that would love a sesaon where we lose to Michigan, but still get to go to the BCS Championship, and win. I'd hate that season. And it isn't impossible. Teams have lost their last game and gotten to the BCS championship.
ITS MICHIGAN!!!! Know your history. Know what it has meant to EVERY man to walk out of that tunnel wearing Maize and Blue or Scarlet and Grey. It's how you are judged. It's why we fell in love with Troy Smith. It's why we fell in love with Jim Tressel. It's why there is always black marks on careers of guys who never beat Michigan. And it's not just about the University of Michigan...it's the whole damn state. All of it. From Detroit to Marquette. I hate everything about it. I feel like the state of Ohio and the state of Michigan are always at war...and the winner is only settled on that Saturday in November when the two schools collide. It isn't just about "pay back" for the 90s. Unless you are including the 1890s too. This battle is older and bigger than any of us. It's THE GAME for a reason.

Penn State??? You have to be kidding me. :slappy:
