Feel free to discuss non-Ohio State recruiting here. Try to keep the discussion regarding other schools out of the player threads (ex: TTUN's '15 class, future recruiting, etc).

Thanks.

Aside from us, a few other schools had some nice classes. MSU and PSU in particular did pretty well. Wisky and Nebraska also hit a few big names as well. But overall, not a great year again for the conference recruiting, though 4-5 teams did pretty well.

We need another year or two of strong bowl results to see a momentum shift that will include benefits for the little guys. I want to see schools like Purdue and Indiana, Minnesota etc snag a few guys here and there.

With you 100%. Need another year to clear the perception and see tangible recruiting benefits, particularly in the warm-weather states. In most years OSU, tsun, Nebraska, and PSU will recruit pretty well. Plus MSU and Wisky are pretty good right now and are not doing too bad. But then the rest of the conference really needs a bump in B1G perception and some $ to help get their recruiting up to par. Overall, there seem to be some good players headed to the middle of the pack teams but just not in high volume like with the top 3. Wisconsin had a really good get at TE in Penniston from Cali and two high quality RBs from Bama and Texas...those are some big wins. Rutgers got a big DE from Florida away from Clemson. Maryland got a couple 4 stars and may get Prince. Minnesota got a 4 star safety to flip from OOS. Iowa got a 4 star from us in Daniels. But in all honesty the classes from Indiana, NW, Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, and tsun (so far) are downright awful. We need a few of those teams to recruit better for depth.

And bring up the rear of the B1G recruiting parade scooping up what they can get:

I don't know if this is the right thread, but is anyone else kind of surprised by the lack of Michigan presence in Ohio so far? They don't seem to be heavily recruiting a single person from Ohio. Based on how it looks now, they might not have more than 1 or 2 Ohio players (if any).

I'm not complaining but it's just surprising.

Moved your post to this thread.

TTUN's recruiting under Jim-Bo has been quite laughable. Seems they're expecting this upcoming season and "wins" to right the ship.

I thought he hired a staff that was supposed to have roots in OH, to recruit... Maybe obscure tweets to national recruits was the strategy that won out

Really good week for Michigan State so far. They are experiencing a very Tressel-esque start to the recruiting class. Unfortunately for Dantonio, Meyer and Ohio State are around to prevent a Tressel-esque streak of dominance in the B1G.

The Spartans are still solidifying themselves as the biggest threat to OSU in the conference, by a wide margin.
