Any scenario that can even potentially end in a rematch of The Game can go get fucked. This is Legends vs Leaders 2.0. Fucking stupid.

What problem are you trying to solve for Kevin? Do you feel your best team has somehow not been the champion a lot?

Why the fuck set up some wonky ass round robin bullshit that's sure to deliver two things: 1) a possible rematch between OSU and tsun and 2) a year where some team that doesn't have to play OSU tries to claim some sort of shared title bullshit. We've seen that movie so many times in the 90's-00's that I can recite every line.

Fuck this idiocy all the way around.

Yeah. Boof to that idea. It'd be bad enough if there's a rematch, in general. Ohio State vs. Penn State, or Ohio State vs. Wisconsin, or Indiana vs, Maryland. (Ha!) Ohio State vs. tsun is the worst of those. But the worst worst would be if, going into the game, we already know that this game doesn't count. We all know it's going to be repeated in Indianapolis. Boo!

2) a year where some team that doesn't have to play OSU tries to claim some sort of shared title bullshit. We've seen that movie so many times in the 90's-00's that I can recite every line.

I'm not entirely sure what's going on with this scenario. Maybe Ohio State goes 7-1 (let's say they lost to...... Iowa...), and Indiana goes 7-1 (losing only to Ohio State), and Rutgers goes 7-1 (losing only to Indiana, never playing Ohio State). In that scenario, does Ohio State have a rematch with Indiana, and Rutgers goes around saying that they should be co-champions? Or does Ohio State have to play Rutgers, with Indiana left out?

What happens if Ohio State goes 8-0, never played 8-0 Iowa, and neither team played 8-0 Rutgers? Probably small enough chance of that one to take that chance...

I actually like the way things are now.
Not always fair in any given year (number of home games + cross-div opponents), but evens out over time. At least you play
every team in your division. If you want to make it to the championship, win the damn games.
If they want to reduce Big10 games to 8, just reduce the cross-div games to 2/yr.

I'm also not against looking at the competitive landscape of the divisions every ~5 years and making adjustments.

Insert whichever team name you want for Rutgers and yes, that is exactly what the fuck is going to happen.

Might as well bring back the stupid fucking rule about last team to go wins the tie breaker that served Wisconsin and Northwestern so well all those years.

Look at the COY and other B1G media driven awards, This conference and its media members love to try and make it "fair" for the other teams not named OSU. That's what this all comes down to. Let's find a way for Iowa/Northwestern/Wisconsin to actually be champs every few years because of some tie breaker bullshit when they didn't have to play OSU.

I say cut all conferences to 9 teams. You play everyone in your conference. 4 home games, 4 away games. No conference championship game. No need to worry about unbalanced schedules. The only reason your schedule was tougher than mine was is because you had to play me, whereas I didn't; I got to play you.

I can buy that. I used Rutgers because why not? I might just as well have used the London Sillynannies in that place.

So, we lose on average 1 BiG game or less per year and rarely the BiG CCG. What they are proposing likely would make teams beat us twice in a season to make the playoffs. I say go for it because we'll be guaranteed a spot in the playoff ala Alabama.

If they make it some kind of CCG setting though, the last one is the only one that counts, so the other teams are the one getting the mulligan, not us.

I understand and I'm not afraid. In the case we stub our toe nobody is beating us twice so I'd take my chances. Worst case scenario we're in the CCG every year no?
Given that, we're in good shape I'm sure.

Ohio State would be getting the mulligan in 2021, not *ichigan.

Pretty close... Ohio State still wouldn't have been in the CCG in 2015. But they would have each year since 2014, except for 2015.

Conferences are getting bigger not smaller, it's all about the money with the Conference's TV Networks and their other TV contracts.
