Nebraska, with no help from the schedule makers, goes for a B1G Title in their second year in the league.

DispatchHaving a five-loss Wisconsin team in the Big Ten championship game apparently isn’t good for ticket sales. Nebraska had sold just 7,800 of its 15,000-ticket allotment for Saturday night’s game at Indianapolis when it stopped selling them Wednesday. Wisconsin had moved just 5,500 of its 15,000 tickets by Monday and a UW official told ESPN.com that the school has reurned 8,000 tickets. It is the Badgers’ second straight appearance in the title game.

It will look odd, however, if they win the B1G after we won the division.
IU and Purdue is wishful thinking. It's easy to say they'd theoretically travel in droves, but who knows.BlufftonBuckeye;2269292; said:The B1G needs tOSU and scUM so badly. Way more than the schools need the B1G.
This is truly the worst possible matchup for the B1G to have. Nebraska is nice to have, but Wisky? Ouch. A Nebraska/IU or even Nebraska/Purdue would have been preferable, with the game at Lucas Oil. It's bad enough that two programs with huge, traveling fanbases (Ped State/Ohio State) were ineligible, but to add a terrible Wisky team to the mix? Ouch, again.
I, for one, hope to see Nebraska win by 40.

I would bet that if the game were played in Lincoln (better team's home field), then you would see a much greater amount of tickets sold. This neutral field bull shit has its negative ramifications.

I agree. How great would it be to have an outdoor conference championship game on December 1st with some adverse elements possibly mixed in? Sure as hell beats the sterile, impersonal feel of Lucas Oil.muffler dragon;2269837; said:That is quite possibly true. However, on the rare occasion that the Buckeyes don't play for the BTC and the Wolverines frequently don't, THEN the best option for multiple reasons is that the game is played on the field of the team with the best record.

The perception out there prior to this year was that Nebraska, one of the so-called "kings", would easily sell out their allotment once they reached the CCG. That's been shot. You can blame it on a poor opponent or whatever you want. The fact is they have to be disappointed with the sales.
Ultimately, it's all about money. That goes for OSU, that goes for Michigan, that goes for anyone in the conference. For most fans, you have to decide whether or not you're going to the CCG or a bowl game (likely the Rose Bowl, one of, if not the most expensive bowl game). The middle-class fans (read: most of them) simply can't afford to go to both, especially for multiple years in a row.
