B1G CCG: #1 tOSU vs #2 Indiana in Indy, Sat. Dec 6th, 8 ET on FOX

Great game. I'm excited for Indiana. Thought we played well, especially on defense, but have some clear spots for improvement entering the playoffs. Maybe this will keep the team hungry for more.

We left some points on the board. But I'm particularly bummed that, yet again, kicking is a major reason we lost. I miss the good ol' days of good special teams.

Also: holy hell the non-calls on holding were blatant. Not sure it changes the out one of the game, but alas.

Also, quite the fucking scene. That was wild inside the dome. That meant the world to Hoosiers and they showed up.

Shocked about a lot right now. But I’m also not. I figured IU had a great shot to show up (I’m also an IU alum). Disappointed the Buckeye offense (Day’s side) struggled again in a big moment.

But we move on, this could be the start of the championship DVD, etc. etc.

Weird to feel this way after a loss. My heart still says this sucks but my brain says “whatever”. Bucks won’t be undefeated 16-0 but still have every chance to be great this year.

Same. I was pissed, but before they missed the FG I was thinking “Would I rather them experience a possible OT game, or go for the win and live with it?”. When you realize it’s about getting through the game healthy and seeing how the team responds, it’s tough to be that pissed. Day also seems different in this presser. He’s obviously upset but beating Michigan was the bigger goal and they’re moving on.

I think OSU learned a lot more about themselves and Indiana in this game than the other way around. They came out passing and put the game on Sayin right out of the gate, and Indiana had a great game plan, threw the kitchen sink at him, and he was rattled. They played a B+ game, OSU played a C game.

The playoffs will come down to what has Sayin learned from this game (a lot), and what can the OL do to improve and protect him (unsure). This sucked and there are questions to be answered, but I this team has a lot more in the tank on offense.

We got our share of calls too IMO. They were without one of their best players all game and we almost knocked their #1 player out the first play.

No excuses we just lost. We should’ve won and we fucked it up to be honest but credit to Indiana.

It’s weird it’s Indiana. It really is..

He’s going to claim he’s unsure why I’m peeved.

Well that’s why.

What’s our likely path anyone know?
It doesn't matter what he claims dude. You can't win every argument. Being right or wrong is irrelevant sometimes. It's not worth it to keep going just agree the spat is over and mods will handle it if it starts up again. You both pissed each other off. His comment was uncalled for yes your response was not the best. It's fine shit happens in the heat of the moment but you need to be able to let things go and let bye gones be bye gones.

Yes, seemed like they were constantly blitzing our redshirt freshman QB, and Patricia almost never blitzed, if I'm not mistaken. I wonder if he just hates blitzing or if we'll see DB and LB blitzes left and right in the playoffs, or maybe just the championship game if they make it that far. Buckeyes still got at least 5 sacks, but all in the first half I believe.

Their redshirt junior QB unsurprisingly seemed better and more confident at throwing into tight coverage than our RS freshman QB. Or maybe IU's zone was that much better.

Did anyone have a moment where they felt like we were going to win the game? Tbh I never did with the culmination of player errors, bad coaching decisions, bad officiating in crucial moments, and what appeared to be complete confusion and chaos on the offensive side of the ball. I'm upset about the loss to put it lightly, but I'm not shocked we lost. Indiana has a very good team or else we would have won despite the foregoing issues.

The loss feels like a real kick in the pants after it appeared we had really started to gel on both sides of the ball and had a healthy Smith/Tate out there. There were zero answers to stopping IU's pass rush and bad play calls were compounded by poor execution.

I will say on Hartline that as much as I love the guy and think he did his best to prepare the offense for this game, the reality is that he was actively interviewing for jobs and is now preparing for his move to USF. I would never question that his heart is not in the right place, but I'm not sure his head was in this one. I do think it's probably best to have someone else take over his play calling role, the offense was incredibly unprepared and frequently deviated from what has worked all season. He's trying his best and I'm not questioning that, but I think human nature is having him look ahead.

The amount of holds the refs missed on IU was egregious, particularly in critical moments for us. It wasn't totally one-sided, but I would say IU got the better calls or no calls about 75% of the time. Regardless, we should have won despite that.

Moving forward, we'll get our shot at redemption. The pieces are there and the coaches all are familiar with what it takes for a championship. We'll make a go at another title regardless of this game. Go Bucks and I'm off to get some sleep

It felt like we had a chance on punching it in on the missed field goal. But Mendoza would have had a chance to get his Heisman moment back against a great D.

I think a lot of it as Sayin growing up against a great D.

The 25 yard fake sack was absurd.

I was really disappointed that Reese was nowhere in this game-plan. He’s a great spy but they need him to make plays off the edge, too.

We’ll see more blitzes but overall Patricia seems much more concerned with QB scrambles and rush lane discipline.

Sayin will be much more used to high level defense if we run against them again

Him starting to figure it out was the best sign for the playoffs. I’m not an X&O guru, but it felt like Indiana threw the kitchen sink at Sayin and OSU played their game but without a ton of extra stuff thrown in.
