Automatic or manual transmission?

oh oh. it seems that we have a child here who can't let go of someone else disagreeing with his opinions. grow some thicker skin, fb.

and don't quote a post after having altered it. very tg05esque.
Actually, I would have done the same thing had nutty posted that list. It was too easy. It's not as though people couldn't figure it out, it was one post away. Get over yourself.
You're lack of correct punctuation and capitalization is also very tg05esque.

those who drive sticks are safer/better drivers. you have to pay far more attention to what you are doing, where you are going, and how you intend to get there than someone driving an auto. why? because of all of the things you seem to hate so much. changing gears. i have to know what my current situation is in order to be in the proper gear. otherwise im banging off the rev limiter or bogging down the engine. i also have to know where im going in order to properly shift to the correct gear to get me there. whereas an auto driver simply points their vehicle in the direction they wish to travel and pushes the gas pedal. this watered down version of driving disassociates the driver from what they are doing and the fact that there are consiquences to actions thereby making them less safe.

For the most part, I agree with what you are saying, but I take some issue with the statement that I am worse driver than you because I prefer to drive an automatic. You contend that having a manual transmission forces you to concentrate more on driving, but (if so inclined) I would contend that having to focus on what gear you are in gives you one more thing on which to concentrate other than the road and surrounding vehicles. However, I am not going to argue that point, because I do not believe it's true any more than I believe that driving an automatic makes me more "distractable."

I don't believe that a certain type of vehicle makes a person a better or worse driver. There are just as many idiotic people driving with a stick-shift as their are driving with an automatic. A bad driver is a bad driver, regardless of the vehicle and/or transmission.

so, you think that the first sentence above was correctly punctuated? there's a lot of glass in your house, isn't there?
The punctuation thing was in reference to you bringing up tg05, he's well known for all lowercase and no periods. I could care less if your english is correct, or if mine is correct.
I was trying to be a pompous ass like you....I'm just not as good at it.:wink2:

Ok, I've tried to stay off of the Grammar Nazi soapbox, but since you're sort of having a grammar discussion anyway, I can't resist this anymore.

One of the errors I find most irritating is "I could care less." You mean "I couldn't care less." To say you could care less is to imply that you care to some degree.

Not picking on you FB. This particular error is horribly prevalent.

(and now back to your regularly scheduled pissing contest)

I hope not.
I agree with you, and I rarely use the term incorrectly. I seem to be having a little trouble on this page. Perhaps my feigned grammar nazi attack on duckboy has created some kind of karmic reaction that's causing me to look like an assface. Who the hell knows.
Ordinarily I would have said "I could care less....wait a second, no. I couldn't."
On a related hijacking note:
I hate when people say " I should of done....."

you have to try harder then.

oh, it should be "i couldn't care less."

edit: i see that "i could care less" has already been brought up.
