Atlanta Falcons (Official Thread)

Yeah Norwood has been plagued with injuries throughout his career.

The Falcons are said to be the favorites to land Edwards or Charles Johnson.

I don't see how Atlanta can do that. They are only $14 million under the cap ceiling and have a ton of free agent starters hitting the market.

And we still haven't signed Julio or any of our rookies!
Edwards is likely out of our league, I'd be interested in Johnson.

charles johnson is going to get paid almost as much as ray edwards. after atlanta signs their rookies, and resigns clabo and one or two other guys, their cap will be gone.

Nope, they will go after free agents. They will def. have enough cap. Don't know where you are getting the 14 million from. With the restructured labor agreement, they will have closer to 20 million. Basically all they have to sign is Tyson Clabo, and he won't demand anything ridiculous. The rookies won't be to expensive.

BTW, I guess undrafted free agents are able to sign and the Falcons just picked up Noel Devine.

the $14 million came from john clayton's list of available cap for all teams, which nobody but you has disputed. Clabo is going to get paid. atlanta's starting guards, dahl and blalock are also free agents, as is tony gonzolez. if you really thing atlanta is going to have a ton of cash to blow in FA, you're fooling yourself.

They will likely sign two of the lineman, that being Clabo and Blalock. I don't know where your getting Tony Gonzalez from. He is not a free agent. Trust me, they will try to sign some players.

We'll probably shead some cap room too. Stephen Nicolas is reported going to NYG, Norwood won't return, they'll resign clabo but will drop either Dahl or Blalock and they might even drop Jenks

Ideally they'll go into FA with 28-32 million in cap space.
