ATH Jaelen Gill (transfer to BC, transfer to Fresno St.)

I like the idea of him playing RB. Add about 10 lbs to his frame in the offseason. I don't really think you have much to lose by making the move. And if it works out, we could end up with a Darren McFadden type of RB. I know that's a super high ceiling, but you never know.

Gill is an H. Not a Curtis Samuel H. Not a Percy Harvin H. More like a Paris Campbell H.
Furthermore, OSU has next to no one at the H next year, and the top-3 WRs are outside guys (let's assume Mookie doesn't break out for the sake of conversation). Williams is a burner but is not going to lose people in a phone booth like KJ or even Parris. He's more Ted than Parris.

I don't think he needs to move away from his h-back spot to get touches out of the backfield.

Just being honest...in Days system can we just call it a slot from now on, KJ got maybe 3 carries all season there is nothing Hybrid about that.

Thats just the thing, I think he does need to move, I think it's about as clear as can be that his wide outs are his wide outs and his rb's are his rb's you can tell even by the way he is recruiting...

He may be the best "unknown" weapon that emerges next season. We all know what he is capable of, but the world doesn't yet. He has had to wait his turn. Well now it is his turn and he is going to show the nation what he can do. I am excited to watch it. KJ was great, but Gill will be a step up in speed and athleticism.

Really interested to see how well he can fit into the offense right off the bat. Would be another key to a great passing game. I'm fine with him getting handoffs too, and if Crowley is healthy, he should be able to compliment Teague well enough, although Gill adds more of a running dimension than Hill did.

Gill is too talented to note find a position for him. Hybrid position may be essentially gone, but I am sure we can find creative ways to get him the ball from the WR position. Not opposed to him playing RB, its just that he has been with the WRs and not sure what the adjustment period would be.

My kingdom* for Jaelen to fill the KJ Hill slot role. Takes a lot to get to a level of a school’s leading receiver though- route running, separation, hands, toughness and some playmaking after the catch. KJ had it all.

We’re good on the outside but the Bucks need the middle of the field, first down player like a KJ or Sanzenbacher. Opportunity is there if he can make the leap.

*my kingdom isn’t much and I would probably save it for the defensive side, but this would be a big bonus.

With the plethora of good TEs in 2019, a lot of H reps were taken by tight ends.

Afaik, the H needs to be the most versatile player on the field in this offense. Run, catch, block, etc.

In 2019, that guy was a TE more often than not.

College football nerds on YouTube kept talking about Ohio State being a spread option team this year, but they were in 21 personnel for far more snaps than they lined up in true spread formations.

Think you meant: 12 personnel

1 Back

2 TE

21 would be 2 Backs 1 TE

...either way, you’re right, that grouping was used a lot. Not sure if KJ was in there as one of the 2 WR. I would imagine he was not.

edit: 11 personnel would have KJ in but 12 most likely pulls the H off the field.
