Hershey actually has had to begin calling some products "chocolaty" instead of chocolate because they have transitioned to plant oils and reduced chocolate levels in several products. There are several leading American chocolate brands that are now in that pickle.
Most ice cream isn't ice cream, it's "frozen dairy dessert". Whipped cream isn't whipped cream any more, it's "whipped topping".

This leads me back to an old memory I have. Back in the 1990's my father had a lot of dogs and they all died the same way. They'd get really fat, more like swollen and they'd die. He thought they were eating too good. The reality is he only feed them table scraps and leftovers, too cheap to buy them real food. I investigated this years later and realized that they were dying of pancreatitis. Fast forward to the obesity epidemic we have in our country now. Look at what we eat, the ingredients in our food. It's obvious that the ingredients in our food are killing our liver, pancreas and kidneys. It's not so much that people are fat, they're severely bloated from all of the poisons they're ingesting. This shit hits the liver and it doesn't know what to do with it so it stores it as fat. I read the labels of everything that I eat. I don't buy much processed food anymore, cheese and some breads. It's becoming very hard not to ingest this poison.

Bloating is definitely an issue, which makes adding tomatoes to your gumbo so much more important!

Why is it that every product with the words “original“ or “classic” in the name has hardly any natural food ingredients in it?

Just check these ingredients for their effect on the human body...from Gemini AI
Polysorbate 60, also known as Tween 60 or E435, is a synthetic emulsifier commonly used in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals to blend water and oil. While regulatory agencies generally consider it safe at low concentrations, it can affect the human body through skin, gastrointestinal, and systemic impacts.

Key Effects on the Human Body
  • Skin and Eye Irritation: In cosmetics, Polysorbate 60 is generally tolerated well, but it can cause mild to moderate irritation, particularly in individuals with sensitive skin, leading to redness, itching, or rashes.
  • Gastrointestinal Distress: High consumption of food containing Polysorbate 60 can overwhelm the digestive system, causing symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.
  • Gut Microbiota and Inflammation: Research suggests that synthetic emulsifiers like Polysorbate 60 can alter the composition of the gut microbiota. This disruption may lead to an increased risk of chronic intestinal inflammation, which is linked to conditions like obesity, metabolic syndrome, and irritable bowel disease (IBD).
  • Skin Barrier Permeability: It can increase the permeability of the skin barrier, which may allow other, more harmful chemicals to penetrate more deeply.
  • Contamination Concerns (1,4-Dioxane): Polysorbate 60 is produced through a process called ethoxylation, which can leave trace residues of 1,4-dioxane, a potential human carcinogen. While these levels are usually low, they pose a risk of cumulative exposure.
  • Allergic Reactions: In rare instances, polysorbates have been linked to immediate-type hypersensitivity reactions, including dermatitis or more severe allergic responses, especially in individuals with sensitivity to polyethylene glycols (PEGs).
