Why is anyone even arguing Ohio State's record versus the MAC, or Notre Dame's, or the service academies, or whatever the hell ... ?

The next good team Notre Dame beats since Charlie has been there will be the first. ND is merely the third best team in the Big-10, seeing as how they were absolutely pantsed by both Ohio State and Michigan this year.

You are right and you provided facts! Maybe if the posters who started this knew what the hell they were talking about we would not be having this discussion. FACT THE ACADAMIES HAVE A COMBINED WINNING RECORD AGAINST ALL THE SCHOOLS MENTIONED ABOVE.

FACT! ND wanted in the BIG10 but was not allowed in. BLAME THE BIG10 for all the ND schedule crap.

ND SOS #24! Not bad despite AF, NAVY and ARMY!! LOL!!

I have no idea why you're quoting my intro snippet from this thread. If you look at other bet threads, you'll see I always say something similar, some more "cutting" than others.

In any event, I'll say it like this, and then I'll leave you with as much rope as you want, If you don't like the way this site is moderated no one is forcing you to show up here. If you don't believe you're getting your money's worth, there are other places for you to discuss how great ND is.

When I was a little kid I liked the smell of matches. I would often light them and blow them out really quick. One time I lit one in my parents room and thought it would be a good idea to light a tissue. Obviously the tissue caught fire quickly and burnt my hand, causing me to drop it. This melted the carpet right next to my parents bed. When they got home, my dad beat the shit out of me. Guess how many times I played with matches after that.

The point? I learned from stupid things I did after I was punished for them. And I was only a kid. What the fuck is taking NDC so damn long?

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, chief, get a cranial rectal inversion correction here. Notre Dame WAS offered admission to the Big 10 and turned it down! Know your history.

Note that they don't receive a full bowl payout any longer; if ND is in a BCS bowl, they receive the same BCS money as a second team from a BCS conference (close to $5 million, rather than $15-$17 million). That's new this year, and often not reported accurately. Their agreement also gives them about $1 million a year when they don't qualify for a BCS bowl.

Yes ND did finally get invited to join the BIG10, years after they were oiginally turned down. Well after ND was firmly entrenched as an Independent and after the TV contract. Bottom line ND tried to get in the BIG10 for years.

As for the bowl money....if ND were oriiganlly let in the B1G10 none of that would be happening.
