at the end of the third quarter SMU had a chance to go for 2 tomake it 16-8. They kicked the extra point to make it 16-7.

I thought that was a really bad decision. Mid fourth they score another TD to make it 16-14, but it should have been a chance to tie the game up. Really bad game management.

Possibly but after the first TD there was a lot of time to go and all they needed was a touchdown, XP, and a field goal. If they would have gone for 2 after the first TD and failed they would have needed a TD, 2 point conversion, and a fg to win. Counting on a 2 point conversion I'm just not sure.
