Arizona +19.5 at Oregon (ov/un 62.5) Fri 7 ET, ESPN

I used to roll my eyes when Spielman would say "They're ruining the game..."

They're ruining the game.

This namby-pamby shit has got to go. Disband the NFL and the NCAA if you have to. Take the game out of the hands of the people who are fucking it up and give it to people who aren't pathetic wastes of human DNA.

Did anybody see Chip Kelly after that kid made the fg and pointed to their sideline? He was crying in the ref's ear "he pointed at me!" lol nice move tard, but its ok for you to unneccessarily go for 2 early in games?

Terrible officiating so far, all of it helping Oregon too.

The SEC has been accused of "protecting" their NC contender in the past. The PAC 10 warrants similar accusations at this point. Not saying it's a fact, just saying it is quite the coincidence.

And who could forget Pitt-WVU a few years back, where a bad Pitt team knocked unbeaten WVU off 13-9 in Morgantown despite getting homered all night?

College football is a dirty business. Anybody watching can see that. There needs to be rules instituted that after a certain point in a season, officials from neutral conferences are brought in to prevent this "protecting your contender" bullshit. It is so blatantly obvious in some cases that it's beginning to effect my feelings towards the sport in general.

I actually came on to say this exact same thing. My feelings towards college football have really went downhill this year. Lot's of bull[censored] going on. I'm not sure I've ever seen a screw job as bad as the one in College Station. Although, I have a feeling this game could top that.

I've never wanted to see a playoff.... until this year. Way too much running the score up and other stuff going on

I'm feeling the same way about college football in general - though I wish it would go the other way. Rather than a playoff, I wish college football would become a more regional game again, with a stronger emphasis on conference championships and traditional bowl tie-ins. I know with the modern media and the increased attention to the game that would never happen, but I miss that aspect of the game.

Every sport has human officials. They will all have some inherent bias, some more than others. I think that often times, it is extremely shady what happens with officiating, esp. in big-time games, but you really can't devise a system that is better (and cost-efficient). They are typically fair, have to make quick subjective decisions and hardly any of them do this for their full-time job.

When you consider that every sport has to deal with this question of referee/officiating bias, I don't think that this becomes unique to college football.

re: the Pac 10... You shouldn't run commercials with the dramatic music and the whooping & hollering like the Under Armor "we must protect this house" stuff unless your teams actually "protect their house" by playing some damn defense.
