Arizona 13, USC 20 (Final)

There's a deeper problem with USC. Much deeper than just missing some players with injuries. The problem is that their wideout are too big and are too slow. They bought the hype about 6-5 230 pound WR/TEs so every WR on their roster is like that. But now, they don't have a vertical game they used to, which is limiting the success of their running game and making them a lot more one dimensional. As asinine as it is to say, they need some more speed on the outside.

Ronald Johnson is making things happen, it's just that he is a freshman so he has to come along. Our big speed threat was supposed to be Travon Patterson, but (surprise) he is lost for the year.

And at USC, when you can get anyone you want, you should have experienced guys waiting in line for that kind of role. Davis/Turner/Ausberry are fine, but none of those guys had the speed that Jarrett had.

Starting a new QB, missing our best two RBs, and missing most of our Oline, I am very happy with today's results (except that we incurred more injuries).

274 yards yards of total O? I know it's a conference game but Arizona is about as bad as it gets for a BCS conference team. From an outsider's perspective, this shouldn't happen considering we heard all offseason long how USC's 3rd stringers would start on most teams.

The way SC is playing, the game against NoD may be closer than expected. I would say that I expect the Ducks to annihilate them at this point in time. Who would have figured this at the beginning of the year?
Do you remember that JOhn David isn't playing right now? neither were several other stating Qb's, Cal for example. Don't be quick to dismiss all these very strong competitors for the NC my friend.

Personally, I don't think JDB would have provided any more offense today that Sanchez. Booty's been a lackluster presence this year, IMO.

I didn't say a thing about the NC; therefore, I don't know why you're bringing it up. Unless you're anticipating that SC MAY still have a title shot or something.

The way teams are losing it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility.

The way I see it, SC is going to lose against Oregon. They'll have tough games against Cal, UCLA, and probably even Oregon State. Furthermore, even if they win out, I don't think anyone is going to have them jump over the top two teams from the SEC. They've played well below expectations this year, and are starting to lose interest for championship contention.

All this is within the realm of possibility too. Give the top two teams another loss and see if USC jumps them.

I realize that all things are possible the way this year is going. I was just saying that for SC to get into the title game; then I foresee the following needing to happen:

tOSU must lose.
USF must lose.
BC must lose.
LSU, Kentucky, South Carolina, California, Oregon and Oklahoma must lose one more.

Also, they would have to get back all their injured players and one of the two quarterbacks would have to play like they deserve to start.

That, to me, is just a LOT of things that wouild have to occur.

Edit: I forgot to add Arizona St.

Davis/Turner/Ausberry must be damn slow then, because Jarrett ran a 4.6 at his Pro Day  All kidding aside, I loved Jarrett and he was my #2 WR in the past draft and he had good game speed, but timed speed? Not so much. Sucks to see him struggling.

They are damn slow, and that's why SC hasn't been getting big plays on the outside. Coming out of HS, Jarrett was a WR who gets behind the defense as well as making spectacular redzone catches. These other guys maybe pretty good redzone weapons, but they can't get behind defenses.
