Are UConn and Cincinnati any good?

Are they quality teams? Are they better than Illinois and Michigan (or Wisconsin, depending on who you think the other 2 good teams in the B10 are)?

I'm trying to figure out how in the hell West Virginia is third in the BCS this week. How in the hell were we behind them last week? And how in the hell did they jump Missouri?

Is beating UConn and Cincinnati all that impressive? They're fucking UConn and Cincinnati. UConn actually lost to Temple!

So I'm asking all of BP. You guys have probably seen them more than I have. Are they actually good.....or do they just have nice records against shitty BigEast teams?
 
Cincy is up-and-down. Best team in the Big-East one week, mediocre the next. I don't really know much about UConn. They seem to rely on not making mistakes and forcing them from the other team in order to make up for their lack of talent. They'd probably be a middle of the pack team in the Big-10 with MSU and Indiana.

This year's UConn will be better than last year's squad. Jim Calhoun will make sure of that. Intensity and defense will be their strength. The offense might be spotty.

The Bearcats are pretty young. Vaughn is an emerging star and Davis could be the 3pt threat they need to open things up.

Uconn lost to UVA by 1 point and to UC iirc. Also, WVU hasn't beaten them yet.

The Bucks would have a challenge with UC, UConn, and WV for a little bit, but end up beating all of them by 7 points or more. UConn they would beat by about 17, because they have the type of offense that the Bucks just plain shut down.

As was noted, we are rooting for UConn next week to beat WV in Morgantown. Not likely, but they are good enough to warrant "some" hope.

hmm, little hostility towards the gold and blue I see......

no disrespect bucknation27, but Illinois is not better than us, so your theory of that is wrong.

And again, just here to talk football and not start any problems, but who exactly have you beat thats better than us? Wiscy? the same team that struggled with UNLV and the citadel, not to mention got ran over by Penn State....Purdue? no Michigan? hell no

Not saying our schedule is golden, but just trying to figure out who OSU has beaten thats better than WVU.

and to answer the original question.....Cincy is a team that some days can compete with just about anybody, and other days be jsut a good team, nothing more. UConn in my opinion is different. they got much needed help from the refs to beat Temple, of all teams. Also, had to cheat on a fair catch to beat UL. Other than that, they are playing pretty good right now....Are they a good team, sure....Great team? no

We haven't beten anyone as highly ranked as WVU, no one ever said we did. The discussion is about realative strength of schedule. A case can be made either way but if it comes down to a beauty contest WVU fans should be nervous.

That is of course you manage to beat Uconn and Pitt.

thats where i got the idea that he is arguing the teams you have beaten are better than us.

and on your comment about the beauty contest, Im not a bad lookin guy, so im not too worried about it. Neither are the two guys we have that run our show, which draw interest nationally, and draw fans. Not saying were as pretty as some teams, but were not ugly by any means.....People like to watch us.

All we can do is win our last two games and let everything fall into place, with the way this season has gone, these last two weeks will be fun to follow. IF we would happen to beat Uconn pretty handily, that certainly wont hurt us, as the computers love them for some reason.

Watching for entertainment is one thing, actually voting you guys to play for a NC given OSU as an option is another.
