Hi,
Either Tuesday or Monday, a perfect score (58) was not recognized for Hexxagon, with me being thrown off the site instead.
Just now, a score for flash poker could not be submitted by hitting the submit score button at the top of the game.
Perhaps you are having some problems with the Arcade lately? Thanks

Yes, and I want credit for a couple days ago when I broke the record for Virus 2 by 100 points. I've been trying to get the top score for months, and I got it, only to be disappointed in this unfortunate turn of events....

Here's the response I received from LongwoodBuck/Clarity:

Most of the arcade issues are going to be rectified by the placement of the new machine. There's a partition of the drive that's critical to the functioning of the machine that keeps filling up to the max, and Clarity has to go in periodically and clean stuff out to keep it running. The only way to keep these things from happening is to get the site on the new machine. Until then, there's nothing that can be done about these issues short of taking the arcade down. And taking it down isn't going to help the site anyway.

Sounds like we will just need to deal with these arcade problems until a new machine is online ... sorry guys.

It's a problem related to the mysql database locking up for a minute or two, and not recording any new data that the site tries to send during that blackout. It happens once or twice every few days right now, and if you just happen to be unlucky enough that you're submitting a score at that moment, it's lost forever because of the way the shockwave game files communicate via php code with the database. If you tried to submit a post at the same time, the page would have to timeout and you would have to reload/resubmit. But because of the caching done with webpages, the data hasn't been lost. Allowing client-side caching of score data would make it ridiculously easy for people to cheat by editing the info on their end, and transmitting whatever score they want. Or something like that, I passed my competency threshold back around "problem related to the mysql database locking up."

New server should make the lockups non-existant, as 3yards relayed. In the meantime, I'll just say player beware and apologize for any lost scores.
