Anyone planning on going to the Buckeye / Wisconsin game?

I'll be up there... lived in Madison the year after I graduated, 2 blocks from Camp Randall... never made it to the stadium for a game. I don't know where the lots are for visiting fans, I am guessing west of the campus. And yes, I agree, the fans are the biggest A-Holes, out of any campus I have been to in the Big 10.

Okay Buckeye fans...I don't want any boos. I am a Badger fan with a husband from the Akron Ohio area now living in WI he is probably one of the biggest Buckeye fans I have ever met. We moved to WI after he served in the Air Force for 6 years. I have pulled together 2 tickets for this weeks game, but I would rather get some Buckeye Tickets and I would like to have my husband enjoy some Buckeye tailgating. Will anyone be attending with plans to tailgate other then at the Union South?

Side Note...if you are coming to the game with no hotel accommodations let me know. I work for Hilton and I know what is open and where....Trust me guys I am not a typical Badger Fan. I didn't go to Madison so I don't chuck beer cans cuz that is stupid, and a waste

Another thing....I do support the Buckeyes anytime they are playing...I am a Big Ten fan just like everyone else.

thanks for any input you might have....I hope I don't get kick out of here :)

I went to several games at Camp Randall when I lived up there and Wisconsin fans are the worst fans I've ever seen... not just to OSU fans but to any other fans that comes in. At the 2003 game vs OSU I literally put a Wisconsin "student" in a headlock after he got in my wife's face after they scored a touchdown.... after that he moved to the other side his group not to be heard from again. I can usually keep my cool, especially if I'm at another teams stadium but those people are just assholes.

Here's a tip for anyone going: if you walk past ANY apartment buildings on the way to the stadium keep on the look out for flying beer cans off the balconys... they will come at you from all angles and sometimes will be full, unopened cans...
its a rough crowd but a i know a couple of real good football fans who are badgers. i was at a game at camp randall when an older lady was pushed down the stairs by a wisc fan. i walked over and confronted him and helped her up. he denied everything. i escorted the lady down to the exit thing. i then walked up to my seat and the kid taunted me. i went back to my seat and about 5 mins later decided i had to go to the bathroom. i accidentally bumped into the kid, think scott stevens on paul kariya, i then proceeded to step on the kid (he was probably 20-25) as he layed on the ground. i was younger and stupider then but he deserved it...

Let me know what parking lot you guys will be going to (if you don't mind tailgating w/ a face painter) Also whats a good time to go to a 7:00 game, Im thinking around Noon? Should I bring a helmet for protection against marshmellows and beer cans? LOL

I sincerely hope you guys over exaggerating a tad because I got my ticket today and the guy in front of me who was like in his 70's said he is going to the game. I won't be on my best behavior if I see people messing with fans like that.

sadly, I wasn't exaggerating at all. I've been to 5 games there, two of which were against OSU. My first experience wasn't really bad but maybe because it was an early game, we sat right behind the OSU bench and we sat with a lot of OSU fans including some players parents. The second OSU/Wisky game was a night and everything after the tailgating was a horrific experience. Every fan base has bad apples but they seem to loaded with them... plus you give these fans all day to drink and they turn into animals.... I saw first hand the cans of beer being thrown at the OSU fans walking in front of us to the stadium.

I was there once for a trip my gym sponsored and would never, ever do it again. I'd been hoping to meet people, but it was mostly older couples and the first thing they did on arrival was abuse and threaten to run over the Illini tailgaters who offered to share their beer. The streets were literally lined with beer cans and bottles starting blocks away from the stadium, and between dodging random thrown items and vomit, hearing the "fans" sit and cuss out their team through the whole game (the student section did the jump-around, but I don't think anyone else ever got to their feet), and being cornered by a random group of guys and asked to "judge a hard-on contest" while walking back to the bus, it was a relief to get out of there. I couldn't bring myself to buy a Wiscy t-shirt, but wore scarlet :) and blended in sufficiently. Can't imagine what would have happened if I'd been walking around in OSU gear.

when I went to non-OSU games I wore a Packer hat... you would have been fine in camouflage or bright orange too... after all it is hunting season.

I want to go wearing a "[censored] Bucky" t-shirt. I love confrontation. I'm fully aware of the probablility of me ending up in the E.R., but it would be a fun fight.

this would be the welcome wagon for you....
