Anything you've probably heard is most likely not an exaggeration. Fields Ave. (the road that ran along side the base) was a constant freak show. Now, the number of bars has shrunk down to less than 100 (from what I've last heard from a guy who went there a few years ago), but whatever you, uh, "need", is there. AC isn't the AIDS petri dish like Bangkok is, either (but still protect yourself).
