Before I take a ton of flak for stating that I like techno, I am very choosy with it. I do not like the stereotypical "Abercrombie Techno" and other similar generes. In fact, the only kind I really care for is labeled "Progressive Trance"

My favorite DJ by far is a guy named Markus Schulz...he knows how to lay down the beats on "Global DJ Broadcast".

2nd favorite DJ is Armin van Buuren who pretty much follows Schulz's ways. Great "A State of Trance" show weekly.

I just learned how to DJ from my roomate who puts out mixes on the web and DJ's local parties. The song transitioning is amazing once you learn it.

Overall most techno is annoying IMO, but the Progressive Trance stuff is great, and this is coming from someone who plays the guitar, trombone, and piano, the 1st two proficiently.

Just looking for anyone else there who likes any type of techno and what DJs you like, not looking for haters :wink2:
 
Techno is cool...but i'd rather play Tecmo! At first I thought it said Tecmo, and I got really excited. Tecmo bowl for nintendo and super tecmo bowl for super nintendo were the greatest football games ever made.

Obviously this thread wasn't meant to be about that...but I had to say it anyway...

I'm probably not into techno enough to like the stuff you like...I like Adrenaline, ATB, Basement Jaxx, Prodigy, Richard Humpty Vision, and my favs are Paul Oakenfold, Bombfunk MCs, and Chemical Brothers.

Haha we'll see if anyone else thinks that too. I am also a fan of Paul Oakenfold. Really I know less about techno than you would think. I considermyself to know one type very well and little to nothing of the other types. The purpose of this thread is also to help me add some variety to my playlists.

Global DJ broadcast is quality listening. Armin is one of my favorite DJs. I like prog house, trance, drum and bass, goa, psy trance, and intelligent dance music. I'm a big fan of Armin, Oakenfold, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Deep Dish, Astral Projection, Infected Mushroom, and DJ Elusive.

www.djmixes2k.com is a good place to pick up live sets

The only Tecno song I like is Daft Punk - One More Time....That was the song of the year at the clubs when I was still in Columbus....I remember working security at Banana Joe's and they played that song a shit ton......Other than that....Not a big tecno fan

Oh yeah....Can't forget Zombie Nation - Oh Oh Oh Ohhh.....

I really dig Daft Punk. I also like Thievery Corporation, Boards of Canada, DJ Shadow, DJ Rap, Autechre, Prefuse 73, and The Go! Team. More indie electronica or experimental stuff...

Golferdow01...if you like progressive stuff, check out DJ Tiesto. He's worked with Armin a couple of times.
