Any System of a Down fans around here?

They are without a doubt one of the most unique bands out there stylistically, but i's not something I can listen to over and over. The fact that they are knee jerk leftists seals the deal for me. RATM's pure badassness covered for their politics, can't say the same for System.

They do have an interesting religious/spiritual side too, though, especially when they're following Serj Tankanian's lead, as on "Toxicity", easily my favorite of their albums. Daron Malakian took over production for "Mezmerize/Hypnotize", and I just don't feel they're as lyrically complex under his lead.

Serj can do so many things with his voice, from actually sounding good to making weird noises, whereas Malakian always sings in the same slightly whiney voice that I can see rubbing some people the wrong way (it definitely takes a little while to get used to but I can't say that it bothers me very much). I find that the more I listen to their songs the more I grow to like them.

If you know me, you may accuse me of alot of things, but I did not lie. I hit spellcheck, oh well. I just hit spell check again and it did not pick up on fececious.

Maybe 'fececious' means full of feces, which may be appropriate. :wink2:

I used to think their songs were catchy and did like the toxicity album. Lately they have become very repetetive, mainly because of their whiny ass muslim political shit. I am starting to long for Fred Durst singing about how much he hates his bitches.
