Any racquetball players on here?

Played it for several years.
Tough, beat you up sport.
You can get injured easily running down balls.
And getting hit with a ball or racquet really, really hurts.
I played in a league and it was viscous.
My wife decided to improve her game by playing me on a regular basis.
Not good!
Domestic squabbles got carried over on to the court and feelings got hurt.
I'm ashamed to admit some of the things I did to her.:(
We stopped playing together.

But.

Hell of a work out!

I just took it up about 3 months ago after having played a few times while in the Marines. I am 100% hooked too. I started off in a beginners league and in December took the beginners championship.

Like most of you, I didn't like doubles when I started. But, to fill time, we had a doubles league between singles leagues which started Jan 9. After a lot of work playing doubles, I like it just as much. Although it is still ultra competitive, a lot of odd things usually happen and it brings a lot of laughs.

If you are really sick (and I am, I usually play 4 days a week, 2.5-3.5 hours each trip), play a doubles team on your own, 2 vs. 1. I use it to play some of the beginners league players I've bolted past in skill. They double serve, I single serve. It gives them a chance to work on their teamwork and I have to work harder playing 2 people.

Intermediate league begins at the end of Feb. I know most of the players are better than me, but it gives you a lot of lessons and I hope to be competitive with most of them this season, then in the upper tier by next season.
