Any interest in a Buckeye Planet Golf Invitational? (skill not required)

I've played Oakhaven about a hundred times. Played some tourneys there, outings, and a lot of rounds. They do host events very well.

If you were a cart girl there, I've probably grumbled about you by saying "where the hell is the beer bitch" :p No offense intended, as everyone who carries around beer is a beer bitch. It's a term of endearment.

I was a student at OSU during those years, I played Oakhaven a little those years. I took more advantage of the OSU Scarlet course's student rates.

I worked at Ables Golf Center/Golden Bear Golf Center/Family Golf Center (the driving range on Sancus and Lazelle) from '96 - 2000.

If you worked at Golden Bear, We probably ran into each other frequently. I used pop in to hit a small bucket during lunch.

Scarlet is working his connections for Foxfire, but there are still a lot of details to be worked out. We're trying to get a rough guesstimate of how many people and what the food and beverages costs are, that way we can determine the cost of the event (should be very affordable), what kind of prizes there will be and what we can donate back to the BP.

I'm thinking we could swing 50-75 golfers.

We're looking at Saturdays at the end of July, Beginning of August.

Maybe a mod could sticky this thread??

Thanks to Scarlet for helping make this a reality!

Depending on the cost I could probably bring 4-5 golfers counting myself.

Edit- That is also counting on it being on a weekend. If it would be a weekday besides Friday I couldn't go.

Sign me up. I could do a weekday afternoon if given a couple weeks notice.

As for courses:
Airport, Raccoon, Bolton would all be good. Foxfire is awesome if we're able to swing that. Bent Tree is nice but pricey. Royal American is probably a little too tough for the bogey golfers among us. Chapel Hill is excellent but it's a drive. Never played Oakhaven before. I have a personal grudge against Raymond Memorial because I always lose multiple golf balls when I play there. Don't those people ever cut the grass? Anyway, there are some others like Tablerock and Wyandotte that might fit the bill as well.

If I may... Le Club Raymon is shit. That time of year it would be like putting on bad asphalt.

Thornapple would be my call, and Bolton is just about a mile from the house, the new clubhouse helped immensly there.

The guy who brought up Mill Creek, last time I was there it was dry [strike]MILLCREEK[/strike].

I am not a good golfer at all, that said the last time I played foxfire it ate my lunch called me "Nancy boy" and laughed at me.

Indian Springs is nice, but as stated a little bit of a drive.

Marysville Golf Club is ok too.

Who was it that was talking York? I used to work there while in school, shinin shoes and slangin beers.

SIMV... Never try and bullshit a bullshitter, call a cab in advance.... You cannot win!!
