if it was bad enough for Bama to part ways with him, I think I'll take a hard pass. Bama (SEC in general) tends to turn a blind eye if they can cover it up and still exploit your talents in some way.
I thought he left them...no? I don’t know the details but thought that he was being disciplined for something, didn’t agree with it, decided to transfer.if it was bad enough for Bama to part ways with him, I think I'll take a hard pass. Nick Saban says Alabama’s highest-rated 2019 signee has ‘basically quit’ the team

Without knowing all the facts I'll go out on a limb and say this:
1) The best thing for Antonio is to be in class (somewhere).
2) Based on their tweets, Anotnio's parents seem to be a pretty good parents.
3) Alabama spent how many thousands of dollars recruiting Antonio and I'm sure made some sort of promise to the family to look out for him and/or always do what is right by him, etc.
4) Someone from Alabama (Saban and/or his position coach) ought to be in contact (visit if necessary) with his parents and Antonio to determine what went wrong here and what course of action they want taken.
5) The Alabama athletic department should follow through on that course of action; either get Antonio back in classes at Alabama, (more than likely) help him transfer to the school (that will accept him) of his choice, or whatever it is.

Source: Alabama's Antonio Alfano in transfer portal month after dad's tweets
Alabama defensive lineman Antonio Alfano has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, a source told ESPN.
The true freshman was the No. 28 recruit in the 2019 class out of Colonia High School in Colonia, New Jersey, and was the fourth-highest-ranked recruit for the Crimson Tide. Alfano's father, Frankie, tweeted Sept. 13 that his son would enter the transfer portal and had the option of staying at Alabama.
While supportive of his son's decision, Frankie said in the same tweet that his preference was that Antonio stay at Alabama. Despite those tweets, Antonio Alfano's name didn't show up in the NCAA's transfer portal list until Wednesday.
