Exactly. He was not encouraged to look elsewhere. That was his choice. When you act like you are uncommitted, this staff will treat the situation as if you are uncommitted. And continue to pursue the top players available. And these recruits know what's going on with others at their position in the class. In the end, probably best for all involved. He is still going to land at a top school like ND or MSU. Have even heard Arizona mentioned.

The real irony will be if Rich Rod can flip a pretty good midwestern prospect that was committed to OSU after being so terrible at previous matchups that he was reduced to recruiting Purdue verbals.

That was what I was wondering, if he was told, or saw the hand writing on the wall so to speak when Werner decommit etc. Urban has to cover his rear just as the kids have to cover theirs. He may be sorry one day but of course if he was certain where he wanted to play he wouldn't risk looking around too much. Best wishes for him.

Or he could have just told the staff what he was doing. It's not like Wade hasn't been able to go on visits and such despite having been a verbal for ... what ... 2 years now?
