This defense over the next several years is really going to terrorize. Coach Meyer has collected a group of hard hitters that play with mean streaks. I'm impressed once in a while, but I've watched tape after tape of guys like Simmons, Keandre Jones and Jahsen Wint that is forming into being quite the hit squad.

Great commit! Didn't think he'd pull the trigger so soon. He's the type of LB to follow along the lines of Shazier, Lee, Worley, Baker. Athletic and can cover in space and will hit like a truck! Welcome robot-o.gif

Combs has absolutely killed it up north. I was thrilled with hire for a lot of reasons when we brought him on, a big reason being Cincy recruiting, but I didn't know how well he'd do in the state up north. Kudos to Combs.

It will be interesting to see how approach LB recruiting now. I'm thinking we only take one more really good one with Simmons in.

Agreed! I thought Coombs was primarily to shore up Cincy recruiting(which he has), but what he's done in MI is pretty astounding. Especially with the school we've been so successful with, being a classic scUM feeder. I could never imagine scUM coming in and getting the top player or players from Glenville when OSU also is recruiting them. Now we get a kif from literally underneath scUM's nose! I think we can be done with LB recruiting if White is solid to move there in college. I could see them seriously go after a 2nd QB, or even a 4th WR prospect since we're in on so much talent. I don't think anyone would complain if we got White and Simmons at LB and then the staff went after say Danny Davis(or maybe Jigg Richardson) at WR to go with Harris, Grimes and Lindsey/Greene

Good point, forgot about White somehow. Perhaps we pursue Marchiol as a more prototypical MIKE or SAM but if we take anyone else at LB, it would have to be an elite guy for sure. Either way, I would be thrilled if the LB class was White and Simmons.
