Annual Spring Game - 2009

we did not get the attendance record last year did we

They did not break the spring game record of 92,000 set by Bama in 2007 (I believe there was no admission charge).

You may have been asking about the lacrosse record. They did not set the all-time college lacrosse record, but they did set a couple of marks.

In their 20-13 win over Denver last Saturday in front of 29,601 fans in Ohio Stadium, the Buckeyes built a big lead in the first half, with a 6-1 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 13-3 lead at halftime. The attendance set national men?s lacrosse records for regular-season (20,180 March 3, 2007 in Baltimore) and on-campus (19,850, April 18, 1987 in College Park, Md.) games.

If the weather is better this year, they may have a shot at the record of 52,004 set at the lacrosse Final Four in Baltimore in May, 2007.

So the tickets are just general admission correct? Any thought on if they may have to open up south stands?

Yes, the first ones in get their choice of seats.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if they open up the South Stands - they didn't do it two years ago when there were 75,000.

Thanks, I am looking to get there before the Lacrosse game and get down there in AA deck. I'm a freshman this year so I have never been to a spring game. How close is it to an actual game day? For instance, is there tailgating and the hole nine? What about the skull session and the walk into the stadium?

There is tailgating, but it's less than at regular games. Those driving in are able to get closer to the stadium without getting in real early - there aren't a lot of people tailgating before 9 am.

There is no skull session. There are usually a lot of recruits in for the Spring game, so before the game the coaches spend some time with the recruits.

Trying to work in a golf joke here, but I just can't...
"Ah this is the worst idea I ever saw. What, you buy a ticket to a game like this, I bet you get a free lacrosse game too, huh? Oh, it works for OSU, though."
It looks like this year's spring game tickets are purchased the same as last year--with entry to the Lacrosse game vs Notre Dame on 04/25. The game is approaching and a search returned no related threads.

Searching for 'spring' and clicking 'titles only' had it pop right up. :wink2:

This will be my first Spring Game. How long does it typically last?

Last year's ran a little over 2 hours, which I think is typical. From about 1:33 ET to 3:38 ET. It followed a lacrosse game just like this year's game will.

Sometimes they'll let the clock run between plays - it's not official timekeeping like a regular game.
