Announcers in the NCAA tournament

Gus Johnosn's the man. I love it when he's announcing games. His call of Lewis' game-tying three was classic. Hell, I think he invented a word.

It was a great call on Lewis' shot. The problem I have is that he tried to impose the same kind of emotion on countless other moments preceding that.

I love him calling the game down the stretch... but you are right that he throws that excitement around every other shot.

Is it just me or did one of the guys today keep referring to Mike Connolly, distant relative of former Buckeye Sean Connolly?
Yep, I made that complaint during the game (it's not the first game he's done this either). He figures out his name when he's at the charity stripe, but I guess he gets excited during the play and his mind drifts off to Jennifer.

Bill Rafftery is the second best color guy after Gus.

"With a kiss off the glass!"
If he didn't use 75 of those lines per half, in a 'constipated' voice no less, I might feel differently. Actually, it's that voice that really drives me nuts (I could deal with the catch phrases if he said them in an audible fashion).

He's half-vitale, half-knowledgeable analyst.

The only reason I don't think he's like Vitale is that he never starts slobbering over one team. Raftery is very neutral, and you can tell that he just loves college basketball(while the same is true for Vitale, you can also tell that he loves certain teams and dislikes other teams).

I like his little sayings though. They're worn out, but they're at least his. It's better than him using the tired cliches that ALL the other announcers use(I don't know how many times I heard James Brown yell "count it" after a made basket this weekend).

It's so disrespectful to put Johnson as the all time worst when in the same tournament Billy Packer is calling games.......I don't care what you call Gus Johnson, just don't make the claim he's the worst when Billy Packer still consistently gets on his soap-box during every game and makes ridiculous comments
