Andrew Hendrix (Notre Dame signee; transfer to Miami of Ohio)

The QB recruiting is going to cause a fan meltdown. We could easily go O-fer. This(QB) is a very key position as it helps separate us from the pact. Even though we won with Krenzel I would much rather we have more talent at the QB position.

We could really go 0-2 on Montana and Hendrix. I would hate to lose Hendrix to ND and Montana to whoever. If we miss on both I wonder if we go after another QB, or just pack it up and wait for Miller. If we go after another QB, I wonder who the next target is? Robert Bolden????

Someone close to him said he's all about hyperbole and has no media filter... Every visit or offer will be "the best" or "eye opening"... That person also said that he'll definitely visit at least tOSU and Miami before deciding...

Hendrix isn't your typical Cincy catholic school kid... His sis went public and to tOSU... They live in a different part of the city as most of the "catholic school sector" down there...

I will almost guarantee we don't go 0-fer with our current QB offers...

I'm not concerend about Mr. Hendrix at this point. I believe ND was his first visit...If he was blown away by Notre Dame, wait till he steps foot in the 'Shoe.

if you are not caught up in the mystique of Notre Dame stadium (which I am not and I imagine Andrew isn't either since they haven't been a contender for most of our lifetimes) then the place is really underwhelming when compared to The Shoe

also, it is my understanding that Miami's facilities leave a lot to be desired

if it is a three horse race with no preference at the outset, you still have to feel pretty good about our chances in this one

and if superior facilities aren't enough to separate us, then we always have the recruiting ace up our sleeve by the name of Tressel

ND is scrambling more than we are for a QB recruit right now... They have to get one this year and have already offered 8-9 with no avail, and no impending commit on the horizon... They pushed very hard, but Andrew didn't relent... That should be a good enough sign for everyone at this point...

He may end up there in the end... I don't know for sure... But I am pretty sure he will visit more places first, and that he will like every place he tours...

I don't think we will miss on both Montana and Hendrix. I was just thinking about what we would do if we did. Hendrix I believe is going to visit tOSU later week. If ND is still his leader after that, then you can color me worried.

The staff has made contact one way or another (asked for video, etc) with few other QB's; Barry Brunetti, Robert Bolden, I'm sure there's more..
Even though they're being recruited at other positions, you have Ware and Green. It's clear Green is pursued as a WR, but even though RB seems like the choice for Ware, no one really has a definate answer that's where he'll end up.

Great point. After a few days I'm sure the emotion of the moment will fade somewhat. The good news is we get him next. I'm sure JT and staff will roll out the red carpet. Let's not forget Montana is also still very much in the picture contrary to the naysayers. It's only June, plenty of time to still get a bg time QB commit.

I'm curious about the academics at ND in the field of medicine compared to Ohio State...I don't profess to know what each school offers, but it seems to me that Andrew said he watned to be a doctor and I seem to recall that OSU offers a program in the field he wanted to study/practice...

I could be wrong, though.

There's really no difference between ND and OSU when it comes to PreMed programs and med school admissions. Virtually nothing. It's all about GPA, MCAT, and extracurriculars when it comes to gaining MedSchool admission. In fact, there's really not much difference between schools ranked 15-100. For anyone to suggest otherwise (like I'm sure ND fans would) would be foolish and ignorant of how these things work. Undergraduate science degrees, in contrast to most other degrees, are interesting in the fact that where you get your degree is not nearly important as other factors (GPA, GRE/MCAT scores, research). Again, I'd say schools 15-~100 are virtually the same, but I digress . . . back to Andrew.
