I understand the desire in athletics to show everybody how not gay you are but to say the word hate is over the top to say the least. I was waiting for him to say somthing along the lines of; according to my religion I find the gayness a sin. Im ok with a guy who bangs every woman in sight though and has 7 fatherless kids. Come on guys he came off like an idiot. I dont believe in telling people they have to be ok with others life style but when you say you hate... its kind of crazy.

then he is a big fucking pussy. i'm so sick of people (Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, ect) saying something then just backing down as soon as they get heat. I just wish they would stand by it, no matter how they feel. - because you know he isn't sorry, he still hates gays. his apology is bullshit

I know ive said stuff I didnt mean before like.... "I hate you mom" when I was 12 or ive called my friend a "gay wad". I see your point though when you make statements like the people you mentioned there is deep rooted feelings there, they didnt just come up with that. I think we could all learn somthing from the Friday Night Lights episode last night.

This has been a ridiculous thread so far, and I'm hesitant to even participate, but here's my soapbox moment:

Hardaway, like every other American is right to speak his mind. He is wrong to be a bigot.

People may disagree with whom Amaechi choses to hump, but eventually the obvious has to be stated: sex - of any kind - has nothing to do with basketball. That is why Marv Albert still has a job in the industry.

The sooner people realize that sex has nothing to do with work, sports, etc., and that it's basically nobody's business anyway, the sooner we can stop worrying whether or not our teammates are gay, or whether or not ESPN/Amaechi have an agenda, or whether or not Tim Hardaway is an idiot.

Man in the Middle shouldn't have to be written, because it shouldn't be a story.
