Alright everyone, time for some real talk about BuckeyePlanet's future.

I think a lot of folks would sign up for a monthly subscription - no free memberships - after all of these years. I could be wrong, though. These days, we're all used to paying for subscriptions that are worth it to us, so it's not like 15 years ago when requiring a membership fee may have seemed off-putting.

Have there been any models run on how many members it would take, at what monthly fee, to keep the site going? Seems like something that could be determined fairly quickly (and probably was if sell discussions took place) if one knows the average number of active members per month and operational costs per month, as well as any other revenue sources (if any) and one-time costs for new servers, etc..

If the numbers don't work, at least it would make a negative outcome easier for all to understand.

Just put a hundred into the mail.
Do you happen to have the mailing address? There used to be a thread with the address but I can’t seem to find it. I can’t send much now (but will send something) but once my financial situation improves I will send more. I will pledge $250 for the rest of the year. Who will join me?

Figure out the necessary monthly fee and make membership from June 1st based on it. I think you'll learn pretty quickly if it's more than most want to pay, or not.

Get cash flowing, and if it's determined the fee needs to change down the road so be it. But the immediate monthly fees would get a lump in at once by next week, if enough people are willing to pay it. Sounds like there's no time like the present to find out.

Go to the first post in this thread and scroll down to the red link. I sent it to a lady in Dublin.
