Sitting around in my underwear....
Anyone else watching the 'Nova-Pitt game?

Ray got popped in the eye by I think Karl Krauser. Knocked his eyeball out.

I'm sure they'll replay it on SportsCenter a few times. Be warned though, it's not for the squeamish.

You have to really feel for Ray.

Anyone know if you can put an eye back in????

What a loss for the prgram and the kid. A great player that hopefully has not played in his last game.....

If there's no real damage to the eyeball itself it could be placed back in the socket, but if it was indeed knocked out of the socket the connecting nerves will most likely be damaged to the point that eye will be blind, and also the muscles which move the eye would probably be significantly damaged, too.

Was it definitely knocked out? I didn't see anything on the handful of replays, but the announcers are making it sound like something very serious like that happened.

I was watching the game when it happened and it definitely popped out. They showed a few replays of it before they realized how gruesome it was.

When you say it popped out, how bad do you mean? How far did it appear to come out, and was it to the point to where you could see the chord connected to the back of the eyeball, or just like the eyeball was temporarly bulged out of his eye?

Also, could you tell if it stayed knocked out, or like it kind of came out and snapped back in?

It popped out, but not to the point you could see the connecting chord. It wasn't that closeup.

But you could definitely see it bulging out of the socket. I'm sure someone will have it posted on the 'net later.

I also started a Get Well thread over at 'Nova's Rivals site.

Uh, I'm pretty sure his eyeball was never knocked out. That was pretty stupid of the ESPN morons to say that. I'm sure there would have been something else on the court...blood maybe. And just maybe the player woudl have fainted or gone into shock. Just stupid reporting.
