God what a great movie

The second one wasnt near as good, but it did have one of my favorite lines.

The 3rd one was HORRIBLE



Happy Gilmore........that is all I have to say. I dont really consider golf to be a sport, more like a good walk, gone bad, but I still love that movie.

The 2nd one sucked. I'm not even sure I knew there was a 3rd.

I didn't think that anyone on the board would have even heard of 8 seconds. Truely one of my all time favorites and one of the greatest/saddest stories ever put on the big screen.

Great call on Tanner from Bad News Bears, but in the same breath you have to mention Buttermaker, one of Matthau's best roles.


Also, in an underrated role not mentioned yet, John Cusack was great as Buck Weaver in "Eight Men Out"

And, as somewhat-cheesy as the movie may have been because Disney made it, Denzel was very good as Coach Boone in Remember the Titans.

What about props for performances in movies that were anything but critically acclaimed - how about Lou Gossett Jr. in "Diggstown". That is certainly one of those movies that I always watch at least for a minute whenever I see it on and have no idea why.

I agree on 8 Seconds..I just watched it on DVD the other night. It is a classic... I especially like Tuff Heademan played by Stephen Baldwin...I almost like his character better than Layne's character.. He is hilarious but serious and that what makes this a great movie along with the events of Layne's career.

I like Nick Nolte's character in North Dallas Forty.

Tommy Lee Jones as Ty Cobb.

also Ray Liotta as Shoeless Joe

Gene Hackman in Hoosiers is classic, and Dennis Hopper also did a great job.
